Things are getting crazy in MLS as the fight to get in the playoffs continues……lets take a look at some wacky, wild games that were literally out of control yesterday, defending has been poor as well as decision making as teams are gripped by fear at this stage:
* SAN JOSE take a huge body blow last night losing to REAL SALT LAKE…..3-2 in San Jose! Maybe it was a two week layoff due to the postponement of last weekends game against the Dynamo but SAN JOSE couldn’t find it last night. The Quakes had not lost in nine and were playing an RSL side that had one only once on the road in 12 this year. Who would have bet against the Quakes?
YURA MOVSISYAN was excellent and a danger all night long against a re-vamped backline that had to be altered due to JAMES RILEY missing for card accumulation. Movsisyan scored three minutes in to shock the crowd but was countered by Huckerby who tied things in the 23rd minute.
An early second half goal two minutes in by Huckerby made you think that San Jose would find their game. No so as Movsisyan tied things up off the kick-off. Enter the talented and over-looked JAVIER MORALES whose spectacular free kick ended up being the game winner.
This was a street brawl with little soccer in the first half, poor decisions and emotions flying. Ronnie O’brien had limited influence and Huckerby was controlled over the final stages of the second half by RSL…….
COLORADO RAPIDS 5 NEW YORK 4
I must admit I always thought that CONOR CASEY was overated and over-hyped. The bald headed one blasted NEW YORK at GIANTS STADIUM with a hat trick in a wild 5-4 RAPIDS win. The “Professor” Juan Carlos Osorio must be pulling his hair out at the breakfast table this morning. Osorio prides himself on being a tactician and an organized detailed coach.
Nothing organized or detailed about this one and you lose to boot. Again the sense of urgency now is making players do crazy things.
CHIVAS USA 2 KC 1
You couldn’t script this out any better.
KC trades SASHA VICTORINE to CHIVAS USA and low and behold he scores against his former teammates in a 2-1 win.
VICTORINE sure is feeling great today…..
DYNAMO at TORONTO FC
A point is a point and the DYNAMO move on to concentrate on UNAM PUMAS this Tuesday in Mexico City after playing on the BMO artificial surface. Have you notice how many poor games have been played on this field due to the surface……its not good for aesthetics nor is it going to make things easy for Toronto in the future to sign players from overseas.
Clearly a disadvantage to have the “fake stuff” when it comes to enticing players to MLS…..
Dynamo fans give me your thoughts…..

Great opportunity lost yesterday. We could have easily come away with three points, but the team looked like it was trying to conserve its energy. I hope they can get through this congested schedule without suffering serious injuries.
Lucky to grab 3 on Sat but a point is a point. I hope we have a “full” squad for PUMAS on Tuesday. I want a win on Mexican soil.
The game against Pumas is gonna be a real test for the Orange Crush…Pumas is one of the top teams in Mexico right now and should be in mid-season form…
The Dynamo need to find that competitive edge they had while playing the SuperLiga to get out of CU with a victory…it can be done and it will be hard…
but it would make it much sweeter in the end…
Pumas is probably the only team taking CCL seriously and Tuca will surely have his best squad against us tomorrow no doubt about that…
Dom should not speculate as this is a chance the team will not have everyday…
We looked uninspired in Canada and out played in Panama. I hope Mexico is more motivating. It really does kind of put into perspective how amazing the Chelsea’s, Man U’s, Liverpool’s, Real Madrid’s and Arsenal’s of the world really are. Sure they have bigger rosters, more money and every other possible advantage, but you still have to go out there and get results. Whether it’s Champions league, friendlies, league play, or what ever the schedule throws at them, they seem to never have to “take a game off”. The Dynamo in their own way are going to show the league and for that matter, the world, that they are “jumping off the porch” and are going to try to run with the big dogs. With the salary cap, a league that seems determined to make sure that MLS fails in international competitions and hurricane Ike, we are German Shepards trying to run with at least a few Greyhounds. We may find we are built to stand and fight and not win the long race. We shall see, as always I will be pulling for our boys.
It is a shame the Dynamo could not shut down TFC. Would have been a nice 3, alas, not the end of the world.
I watched a little of the RSL game and from what I remember of the game here and seeing this one on TV, that YURA MOVSISYAN is one fast Armenian! He has great size and is so fast. I can’t believe he does not score more, …
I was kind of thrown off by Pat being pleased that Dynamo didn’t lose. TFC is one of the few teams that Houston has a sure three w/. Unacceptable. All i have to say is Pat better leave Mexico with a shutout or I’m going to razz him at our next game. I have a good memory I won’t forget.
I havent had a chance to watch the game because i had to work but what i know is that Tuesday is going to be like the match of my dreams, heart split in 2 but i will cheer on the bigger half of it…sorry dynamo but im a Puma wwaaayyyy before Dynamo, or MLS. with that said…GOYA GOYA CACHUN CACHUN RA RA UNIVERSIDAD!!! for those that dont know, thats the UNAM Pumas chant. Glen, remember Ching, DeRo, and Donovan on same team? All-star team…wish Donovan came to Houston instead of that Bayer butt-Munchen! >:-l
