SO IS CARLOS TEVEZ AT THE RIGHT MANCHESTER CLUB?

Ahead of tomorrow’s spicy Carling Cup semi-final match at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Manchester City alot of bantering in the press is ocurring.
Carlos Tevez who scored both goals in the recent win over United was involved in a controversial moment when he put a finger to his mouth as to tell Gary Neville a United sub warming up to be quiet. Neville responded by giving Tevez the international symbol of_______you. Neville had been quoted as saying that United were in a sense better off without the talented and fiery Argentine. Tevez responded by calling Neville an “idiot” and “boot licker” in an Argentine radio interview.
Tevez apparently was offered a lucrative deal by United but passed on it saying he was never made to feel welcome at Old Trafford by the club. He has stated he now feels he is “at the right club”. Others claim he was just greedy for grabbing more money at City, Tevez says he has been made to feel more welcome there.
So the villian (Tevez) comes back to Old Trafford tomorrow for a match between two teams who live and work in one city. Security and tension will be high all spurred on by this controversy.
So what are your thoughts on Carlos Tevez going back to Manchester United? And by the way, I think Wayne Rooney is going to steal the show.

I’ve always loved watching Tevez play. I still remember him being steps ahead of everyone else when Boca was playing a Santos (of Brazil) team with the likes of Robinho and Diego in the Libertadores final in 2003. And I, like most others, have a polarizing view of Manchester United. In my case, I cannot stand them. I will try to be fair but these beliefs will cloud my judgement and opinion. But,

Sometimes things don’t work out for player and club and its best to go seperate ways. Tevez felt that he was not the highest priority at Old Trafford and felt the need to turn down their offer unless it was for some ridiculous amount of money (something everybody knew was not coming). I think it was absolutely the right decision to go elsewhere (Man City? Another discussion for another day). I believe that Ferguson tried to balance out playing time between Rooney, Tevez, and Berbatov even though to me, Rooney and Tevez were the 2 players playing the best and deserved to have the bulk of the playing time. He tried to keep everyone happy and he could not do it. Tevez (because his contract was the next one to negotiate) took the opportunity to leave.

All of the insults, gestures, and feelings of ill-will come from that. I believe that Ferguson got greedy and tried to keep everyone he could. I also believe that Tevez had no desire to return to a club where he would have felt “marginalized” or “limited” for lack of a better word.

I still love watching Tevez and don’t blame him one bit for leaving. So if I must pick a villian, I’ll pick United. They were dumb enough to remain committed to Berbatov when someone else was better. I hope that the Citizens shut up Old Trafford though, my head says that things will go well for United today. They’re the better TEAM and these things seem to go their way.

I agree with the previous statement, El Apache is much better off leaving then staying at Man U. Man U is over hyped anyway and for people to think that he is not missed is just crazy. The Elite strikers are not elite by accident. They know where to be and when to be there and how to finish. Tevez is showing this right now and his form is better than ever. He just needs to continue and he can be considered one of the best in the EPL over a strech period. Man U is just sour graps as always….They were that same way about Ronaldo….While Man U is a top team there are bigger clubs with more history who will take there players if they want to. Man City is not one of them, but as has been proven throughout history, Man City lives by the Golden rules, which is as we all know, Who ever has the gold, makes the rules.

Glenn, great interview with Kyle Rote Jr last night on your show. He is a class act. He was one of the first soccer “superstars” I got to see when he was with the Houston Hurricanes. It was crazy that they used to have games in the Astrodome. He shared a great story on Lamar Hunt in how this guy was a billionaire but was a humble man who never made himself the center.

Well, now that Holden is gone, the Orange have to make moves. Cameron to Clark’s old spot and somebody to man Holdens former slot. Apparently the Orange are looking at foreign players to fill in gaps. Hopefully, they find a good attacking midfielder who can pass. If Landin’s offseason work has been diligent, then we can expect a far superior player than last year. I still think he is a gifted player that did not play to his potential for whatever reason last year. If Oduro continues to improve and actually finds the net, if Weaver is a little better than last year and Ching remains healthy, then we have the makings of a solid team that can compete with any in the MLS. Can’t wait for the season to start. Go Orange!
