Team Warzycha 2 Team Arena 0 which translates to Crew 2 LA 0…….

The Columbus Crew knocked off the LA Galaxy 2-0 in Columbus behind goals from Eddie Gaven and Steven Lenhart.
Columbus were the deserved winners against a blase LA Galaxy who were without David Beckham on a wet and rainy Ohio night.
Landon Donovan also did not look very interested in this match which could have propelled the Galaxy to the best overall record in the league.
Columbus now has the most overall points in MLS but do the Houston Dynamo a favor by keeping the Galaxy at bay. The Dynamo LA game later in this month could have huge implications.
The Crew are now 9-0-4 at this point at home in MLS and clearly have to be the team that you consider the front runner for the MLS Cup.

U.S. U20’s lose at Fifa U20 World Cup

The U.S. under 20 team looked less than impressive today in a 3-0 loss against Germany in Suez, Egypt. Brek Shea from Brenham, Texas started for the U.S.

I think it is well known on this page that I’m an avid tri-Fanatico but since they didn’t go to the U-20 WC I was rooting for the Bars and Stripes…couldn’t sleep all night because i was afraid i would over sleep and miss the game…slept for three hours woke up waited saw the game and BAM! 2 down in 3 minutes…before that penalty the US looked good. Afterwards I was just hoping for a goal to get us back in it. Then Germany scores and all I could do was hope for the game to end so we don’t end up losing one of the third place berths on goal differential. I can’t help but look back to the Confederation’s Cup and hope that we pull off another miracle.

Why is Roentgen (sp?) still coaching our US sides at the younger levels. He is a horrible coach and tactician. He and most of the foreign (European) coaches in USSOCCER are responsible for players like Arturo Alvarez, Rossi, etc. and other young american players choosing to play for their parents\’ countries.
They pick big, tall, physical, slow players ahead of quick, technical players regardless of size. The Germans exposed our lack of quickness and speed constantly. This cannot be our up and coming crop of players. Roentgen (sp?)was a sorry coach in MLS and has been failing on th eNational sides forever, but he continues to work and ruin our players.
I am scared to see what the Africans are going to do to us in the next game. I hope Cruz gets in on the action. The kid at least has speed.
