U.S./Guatemala tonight!
The U.S. and Guatemala will qualify for the Hexagonal with a tie at Livestrong Sporting Park tonight at 7 Eastern on Espn2 and Telefutura.
U.S. manager Jurgen Klinsmann has promised to attack despite a squad that has injury problems yet Guatemala has the same concerns.
One thing I did glean from Klinsmann was the fact that he acknowledged criticism from U.S. fans in a positive way and parlayed that into the care for the U.S. National team.
” They care more about soccer in general and they ask more questions than they have and raise their expectations, which is good,” he said. “It gives everybody involved a bigger sense of accountability. Your’e accountable for what your’e doing-me as a coach, as a player, and everybody involved. I think that is great.”
Well of course it is great. This sport in the U.S. goes nowhere without fans, opinion and people who care and give a dam. Anyone that is complaining about criticism in this country is missing the point and is thin skinned.
Healthy pressure leads to improvement on all levels and adds to the excitement of the MLS product.
