Catch Soccer Matter’s with Glenn Davis the new half hour magazine style tv show today at 2pm on Fox Sports Houston. The new episode will air tomorrow morning on Fox Sports Houston at 9am and features top ten goals plus an interview with midfielder Ricardo Clark.
Sad news from overseas as former England manager Sir Bobby Robson passed away after fighting cancer. Robson led to England to a World Cup semi-final in 1990 and also formerly managed Newcastle United. I always liked the way he dealt with the press and brought a sense of elegance to the role of manager.
So what is it with Freddy Adu. Has this young talent been over-hyped. He sure is struggling over-seas and after little playing time in France is back at Benfica and one wonders where his future lies. Sure see him having a hard time fitting into the current U.S. National team scheme.
You had to think this was going to happen…..How long was Kenny Cooper Jr. going to labor in Dallas with things slow to improve. Good for Cooper who has been patient and deserves the opportunity overseas in Germany with 1860 Munich. Ironically, the Dynamo will now not have to face him next week in Dallas. The other dynamic that is now coming into play is that MLS clubs with poor attendance and coverage are going to find it hard to entice and keep players in markets where there is no relevancy. Where would you rather play? Seattle? Houston?

Glenn, Adu needs to go to a club where he can play, he might have to go to a bottom table team, and maybe work himself up?
I don’t think Benfica is planning on playing him with Nilmar, Saviola, Di Maria and Aimar!

I really hope Heath Pearce and Sacha Kljestan are left off, Holden has earned a look ahead of Sacha!
I hope Mastroeni is left out too, I think with Clark we’re covered and Torres and Feilhaber we’re good, I wish we had Edu for this match! Also Edu might of made a huge diference with our C team in Gold Cup, is a shame!
One quick thought I root for Mex…but if US wants to beat us Bradley must play this line up

Leo with all due respect you want to leave Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore and Charlie Davies out of the starting line up? Ching are you serious?
By himself it spells doom, no Dempsey to control the midfield? Clark cannot play the wing, there’s no need to play with 5 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders! Unless the 5th defender is Beasley, even then not too thrilled about that!
Defense should be just like at the Confeds:
Spector, DeMerit or Boca, Onyewu, Boca or Bornstein

Freddy Adu should come back to MLS with a team that can provide him with leadership experience and time to grow up. His play this summer with the USMNT was selfish and uninspired. He has great skills with possession of the ball and is capable of being creative, but is too intent on being the one to take the shot on goal. A few more years in MLS and after another trip to Europe Freddy might contribute to the USMNT by age 26 if his head ever catches up with his body.
USMNT line up against Mexico? Must have Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore and Charlie Davies on the field. Davies and Altidore to take the ball from the foot of Donovan and Dempsey to be in the right place at the right time.
Rest in Peace Sir Bobby Robson.
Edwin i didnt mean it as Clark playing win…i really didnt put an order…just a 5-3-2 with donovan behind ching….other than…that let them fix it
The world is less of a good place. Robson was the the best example of how a manager should be.
Adu needs to find a place to play. Period. You cannot get any better without a challenge and the ball at your feet. There is no such thing as a free lunch.
Edwin, get over your thing on Ching. Things happen with him on the pitch. To ignore that is foolish. You dont have to be pretty to get the girl.
A lot more happened with Jozy and Davies vs much better teams!
Adu should come back to MLS and learn to be the Winger that he is. He needs space. He could learn something from Zakuani, or Holden.
But he’ll probably wind up in Dallas with their allocation ranking and dollars.

Adu needs to come back to the MLS and get more playing time. Hey, imagine if Freddie L. from the Seattle Sounders got transferred to the Houston Dynamo? I thought he and Holden were the best guys out on the pitch during the All Star Game even though they lost in penalty kicks. Actually, both goalies were the best but you know what I\’m sayin\’.

It should be a standard channel, try calling them, maybe you need to add it as a sports package but it’s a pretty popular channel?
