It actually looks alot better than it looked before. Some light fertilizing to “green” it up would have been nice, but some green food coloring just before gametime should do the trick. Love the show, the Big factors regarding jaqua and kamara are we know Jaqua can do what he di last year but will he? and can Kamara do what Ngwenya did last year? The Big factor tomorrow night against pachuca will be the FANS. It is a huge psychological mountain to climb for a team on the raod to face a Fired up team and crowd on a quick turnaround. Dynamo fans will/could be the difference maker.

This is the problem of sharing a field with a university. UH’s first priority is to have a good surface in place for the start of football season. But for the Dynamo using their field, no one would care that the field is in the condition it is in at this time of the year. From a timing perspective, I’m not sure there is a better time for their athletic department to put in a new surface in preparation for football season.

Lousy for our Dynamo, but this is going to be the way of things until a new stadium is built.

I’m happy to see that there was an attempt to make the field better (it couldn’t have been much worse), but I think it still has a long ways to go before it is actually up to the standards that should be met for a professional sport.

It’s a poor reflexion on Houston, UH, Houston Dynamo and the U.S.A. I’ve read several international articles in regards to the Dynamo vs Chivas Guardalara Superliga game and the poor field conditions. It makes MLS look Mickey Mouse. The field conditions should be like this for regular MLS play much less for the semi-finals of an international match.

There’s always the trick that the Cosmos used when they were still playing at Randall’s Island – Green Spray Paint.

WHEN ARE WE GOING TO FINALIZE THE DEAL ON A NEW DOWNTOWN STADIUM!!!!! This is a must for the future of soccer in this city. The possibility of big time events increases dramatically when you have a soccer specific stadium.

  7. Glenn Davis says:

Don’t forget that Soccer United Marketing has large accountability in the poor fields that have been on display during the Superliga…and you want tournament credibility? What about the players…I find it hard to believe that all involved with soccer especially with the dollars being spent at UH that the all are held captive by UH. Where are the board of regents and who can step in ? Absolutely poor reflection on everything soccer and a built in excuse for Mexican clubs….

  8. William says:

Robertson Stadium not the only poor MLS pitch lately.
Seen any of the Galaxy or Chivas home games in the last month or so ? Pitch looked horrid.
Was told the ” soccer specific” field gets used for everthing from high school and college graduations to X games events.
Can’t wait to see the new RSL Stadium and playing surface, should do the league proud
