“Retail therapy” for Club America but most being shrewd

pardo300.jpg

So we all know the Dynamo are in need of a back-up goalkeeper, defender (assuming Bobby Boswell does not return, yet I wouldn’t count that out just yet) and an additional striker.

In Europe don’t expect to see the normal splashing around of money. Expect more very prudent and shrewd buys that target specific areas of teams.

MANCHESTER CITY is swooping in on CHELSEA defender WAYNE BRIDGE. MANCHESTER UNITED are signing two young talented SERBIANS with an eye on less of an impact from RYAN GIGGS down the stretch.

I have spent the last week in MEXICO CITY (I need to get back to the “fresh” Houston air.) and it is always great to feel the soccer culture of this country even the MFL is down yet not for long.
INDIOS and TECOS will kick off the next tournament on January 16th but the U.S. will get to take a look at MFL teams in the Interliga. SO are you going to the SUPERCLASICO between CHIVAS and CLUB AMERICA?
Prediction for this one is EFRAIN FLORES’s boys over CA. As you may already know CLUB AMERICA has done alot of “retail therapy” signing eight players trying to turn around a very poor team from the last tournament.

Once again Houston is home for important international competition with the Interliga in town..Are you going?

DYNAMO ALL ACCESS WITH GLENN DAVIS MONDAY from 7-9pm.
I will get you the updates on all Dynamo news and expect DWAYNE DEROSARIO on the show with others.

713-212-5790 is the call in number.

So lets have a little fun……….
If you had one player within MLS you would choose for the Dynamo who would it be?

If you had one player worldwide who would it be?

My choices would be JUAN PABLO ANGEL from NEW YORK and LIONEL MESSI from BARCELONA.

  1. Peter says:

One player from MLS for the Dynamo would be: Chris Rolfe.

One player from the World would be: From Boca..Riquelme

  2. Nate says:

I’m with you, Glenn, Angel and Messi would be my top picks for the Dynamo.

As for the Superclasico, hell yes I’ll be there! Can’t wait. I had the opportunity to live in Guadalajara for a few years and it was that rivalry and the passion surrounding that game that really sparked my interest in soccer. Arriba las Chivas, si senor!

  3. RED DEVIL says:

ONE PLAYER FROM MLS C.BLANCO FROM CHICAGO FIRE AND FROM THE WORLD GUILLERMO OCHOA FROM CLUB AMERICA GOALKEEPER BECAUSE DYNAMO NEEDS ONE

  4. wren says:

    The Crew’s Schelotto and Hoffenheim’s Vedad Ibisevic (19 games/19 goals/6 assists).

  5. Eric says:

From MLS – I’d go with Schelotto, if only for his majestic distribution skills

From the world, Clint Dempsey, because it’s nice to come home (relatively speaking) and score goals. And Dempsey – Ching – Kamara has a nice ring to it. Btw, the equalizer against the Blues last weekend was MONEY!

  6. Marco says:

    From MLS? Yura from RSL.

  7. Offebacher says:

    From MLS – Joe Cannon.
Anywhere – Austrian Marc Janko who scored 30 Goals in 20 Games, and will probably never be heard from again once he leaves Salzburg. ;-)

  8. coop says:

MLS – Landon Donovan (with Juan Pablo Angel at a close second) no one in the league last year had Donovan’s scoring touch and put on a decent team he would be unstopable. That doesn’t mean I like him though lol.

Worldwide – Zlatlan Ibrahimovic. In my opinion he is by far the top out and out striker in the world right now.

I’ll do you one further and put my favorite youth picks:
Theo Walcott and Aaron Lennon have massive potential.
    Lio Messi is good too.

  9. Edwin says:

I would probably have to agree Juan Pablo Angel would be the best fit, we already have some creative midfielders but with him and Messi, who would be my world option, teams in MLS would have too much trouble guarding them so Holden, Clark and company would just dance around I think they would actually score cause of the spaces those 2 guys would make drawing coverages. Besides with those too, Dynamo wouldn’t need more defense than what they have now, and it would give them time to find a replacement for Onstad

  10. Ramiro says:

coop knows his stuff…beat me to it. world player i would like to have would be Ibrahimovic, fernando torres, or rooney. a mid, kaka. def, dario Veron from pumas unam, rafa marquez, or john terry. goalie, memo ochoa. i think MLS would be a good place for ochoa to continue playing. i think he is going to waste in stinky America. from MLS, Kenny Cooper, Landon donovan, or Yura Movsysian. mids, i think we are set.

  11. wren says:

Coop, Ramiro…please. Ibra may be the MOST TALENTED striker in the world but he plays w/ZERO heart as if every game is a stroll. He is a gifted player w/ball skills that can mesmerize and yes Inter are toppa tha’ league but he is shocking for Sweden and he’s third in goals and constantly underperforming when he should be destroying Serie A.

Put Rooney or Torres’ heart in Ibra and you would have…SAMUEL ETO’O! With all due respect, an injured Eto’o is more productive than Ibra. In fact, his stats are identical to DIEGO FORLAN’S!

  12. O4 says:

    Defender – Chad Marshall
    Striker – Ibra

picked for need, not for show or I’d have gone with Ronaldo and Angel.
