The challenge for U.S. manager Bob Bradley will be how to replace his own son who is not eligible today against Brazil in the Confederations Cup final.
That vital area of the middle of the field, that vital area in front of the U.S back four always has to be controlled and managed.
Yes, the U.S. will need to keep these lines tight against the likes of Kaka but who will partner Ricardo Clark?
Benny Feilhaber seems to be the player that U.S. manager Bob Bradley has hinted towards but will Feilhaber be able to provide the ethic to go along with his intelligent moments on the ball? Sacha Klejstan could be the other option and the two could share in this role over the course of 90 minutes. This is a big question today on a big day for the sport in the United States.
By the way did you see the additional support on Espn sports center?
It will be a rare moment when the United States takes on Brazil tomorrow in South Africa for the Confederations Cup title.
So will you watch it? Where will you be ?
This is another one of those indelible moments where soccer leaders can encourage their youth clubs, teams and son’s and daughters to be a part of what will be an exciting opportunity.
After watching South Africa compete against Brazil, who is to say a confident U.S. team can compete with mighty Brazil?
I have also heard of alot of watch parties being organized and adults taking the lead for a great soccer moment.
Tomorrow at 1 cst is a great opportunity to recognize the big picture.
I have heard the Mezzanine Lounge a radio sponsor is having a watch party as well as others.
The Dynamo will provide the nightcap in Carson, CA tomorrow night when they take on the Galaxy in espn 2 and I am looking forward to doing the call of this game with Kyle Martino. Dynamo manager Dominic Kinnear has selection challenges at outside back with both Wade Barrett and Craig Waibel not available. Who would you play there and do the Dynamo continue their run of unbeaten play.
Dynamo look to extend unbeaten string to 12 games…

This is soccer, anything can happen, like defeating a team that had won or draw their last 35 games, if the US plays Spain 10 more times, perhaps Spain will win 10 times, but they lost this time, if the US plays Brazil 20 times a championship game (meaning no ties), Brazil will probably win 19 times, but perhaps tomorrow will be the 1 game, no one knows, Brazil already lost a Confederations championship game against a CONCACAF team and lost a game to the same CONCACAF team in the last Copa America, you never know, if they win, great, if they lose, it was a game against one of the best teams, the important thing is, if they lose, at least do it with good soccer.
i agree with jarrambide we need to have a good showing in tomorrow’s game (regarless of the final score)
GO USA
Our guys believe they can win. That is what is new and differant. Brazil is way better than we are, but that “dont mean a thing”. There’s a reason we play the game an it has people everywhere excited. That’s what I like. Maybe Rico even finds the net! With Bradly out he’ll need to step up and bring the game we’ve seen coming.
Feilhaber is the only guy for the job. Kljestan is a good MLS player (though not even THAT this season) and should not see the field in this game. I wouldn’t mind seeing Torres late in the game if necessary, but he has had no field time and that would be a big gamble. I think he is the best long-term investment for this team though.
I’m not one to cry out for Adu, but I do think he’d be a good late-game sub as a forward, not as a midfielder, just for the risk-reward he might bring if we’re behind. Plus it would give him some confidence before the Gold Cup. Other than Adu and Torres, our sub situtation is pretty uninspiring, and even those two are risky (but risky in a way with a possible upside, not risky in a way of being overly conservative and hamstringing our team like Kljestan would be).
Go USA!
And as for the Dynamo, I’m glad we’re facing the Donovan-less (and Beckham-less) Galaxy with our cobbled-together backline. It should give our backups some good experience without throwing them to the wolves. It’ll be a tough match due to the injuries and call-ups, but I’m looking forward to seeing how the team performs with some newbies.
Stay healthy, Ching. I hope you have a good experience in the Gold Cup; I’m bummed for you that you weren’t able to experience the Confederations Cup.
The most important game for the US in God knows how many years and not a single mention of the game in the paper version of the Chronicle, disgraceful, just disgraceful, I wasn´t even born here and I´m anxious to watch the game (not to mention I am grateful that the US defeated Spain), at least ESPN changed their game from ESPN2 to ESPN.
