Chalk this one up to a goalkeeper. Guillermo Ochoa was outstanding for Club America in the 1-0 win over Morelia at Robertson Stadium in their Interliga opener.
Ochoa made a long range goal from Alejandro Arguello stand up by providing timely saves against a Morelia squad who was the better team on this evening. He also saved a penalty kick from Mauricio Romero after a hand ball was detected.
What we have learned it that Interliga results have little bearing on how well Mexican League teams do in their upcoming seasons.
Ironically, I was at Azteca Stadium yesterday in Mexico City and visited the Club America museum which was impressive to say the least.
More on that later if you care to hear about it.
