Great news after a rough weekend in soccer. To bad it can not be in a soccer specific stadium (Mrs. Garcia, and Mr. El Franco Lee).
    - On a side note, I have been curious as to why Dom did not pickup Nate Jaqua for this All Star Game as a replacement for Chinger as a target forward? Things that make ya go HMMMMMMMM.
    - Look forward to the show tonight as always Glenn. When do you think you will have another remote broadcast (Stags Head, The Mezz, or maybe Mollys Pub in The Woodlands?)??

  4. Kirk says:

    Sarge I’m with you. I vote for Molly’s .

  6. The Sarge says:

Glenn, well that is 2 votes for Mollys Pub in The Woodlands. I am sure we have plenty more out there to lol. Might be something the pub would be higly interested in hosting :D . Now where is Bandido when we need his vote lol.

I don[t know what to think about the All Star Game Glenn, I dislike the concept as a whole, I dislike the fact that a soccer league has one even more, you want a game to see the best players of the league?, we have lots of them, they are call the World Cup, Gold Cup, Copa Ameria, The Eurocup, etc, etc, etc, but then again, I wasn\’t born here, perhaps the All Star Game is one of those American things, like Thanksgiving (which has become one of my favorite holidays) or the love of the flag or parades for everything, things that you appreciate better when you get more immerse into the American culture.

If we get to host it I will probably go because I believe in doing everything to help soccer in this country, I don\’t care what other posters say Glenn, you keep praising those Sounders fans, we need more like them, I want the Dynamo to avenge the defeats, but we need more fans like the Sounders.

About the penalty in the Mexico vs the USA game (I tend not to post in the actual posts about those 2 playing each other, don\’t like the few bozos from both sides that try to turn soccer into something else), I told my father in-law just after the call that you could say that a lot of jersey tucking happens during games and they are not called, but that it doesn\’t mean that it is not a penalty and most importantly, it almost always happens during corner kicks or when you are far away from the ref, if you do it when another player has control of the ball and infront of the ref, you only have yourself to blame, those calls can go either way, 50% 50% chance is like gambling, I don\’t like gambling.

By the way, another vote for Molly´s Pub in the Woodlands, I live a few minutes from there and I would not miss the chance to attend, even if you don´t deserve to have a radio show, lol, loved the fact you didn´t erase the comment from that “fan?”, I love guys that really believe in free speech and prove it with their actions.

  9. Leo says:

I also vote for that pub place…or something….

  10. glenndavis says:

    Lets work on Molly’s guys……

  11. realslfan says:

FYI. According to the Don, the reason for it being in Houston is that they want to bring in a top-notch Mexican opponent (I’d guess Club America or Chivas).

  12. Ria says:

MLS all star game. Great!! Just hope it will be a game against an English or Scottish club.

  13. cj says:

Everyone around the league is asking why Houston got the All Star game before having their own stadium and having it in Houston in August. I think I can make a good guess. First of all, I am sure this was part of the deal about getting the new stadium deal done downtown. I am sure the Houston City Council demanded this (remember it brings $30 million into the city) and it is part of the deal. This is very good news for Houston! The reason they also picked Houston in August is that it will be in Reliant Stadium (roof with air conditioned).

I do wish MLS would take a chance and get a great Spanish club (Real Madrid or FC Barcelona) rather than a Club America. I am sure that many of the stars would not show up anyway because it is right after the World Cup.

Exciting times for Houston! It will more important than ever for the team to get a good start next year so we can get as many Houston players as possible on that team as well as Dom as the coach.
