Mexico will take on Colombia on September 30th at the Cotton Bowl in a doubleheader that will also feature MLS.
FC Dallas will take on the NE Revolution and undoubtably will play in front of their biggest crowd of the year I imagine in the pre-liminary game.
Apart from the win over the Dynamo this will be one of the bigger moments for FC Dallas of the season and an opportunity to influence fans .
The game will also take many fans back to the days of the Dallas Burn and Leonel Alvarez, Hugo Sanchez, Mark Dodd and Jason Kreis whom patrolled the surface of the Cotton Bowl.
Having been a Dallas Burn commentator during this time period I can only say those were good times ! The team was league run and coached by Dave Dir and managed by Billy Hicks.
The squad had a much larger hispanic following which was ultimately lost when the team moving to suburban Southlake after the team was taken over by the Hunt Sports Group.
Tickets for the Mexico vs. Colombia game can be purchased at FIESTA TICKETMASTER locations.
This week FIESTA UNSUNG HERO is Craig Waibel of the Dynamo for his community work at Texas Childrens Hospital.

No roadtrip for the Mexico game…Dynamo play Pachuca that evening..
Make that two lost roadtrips…because considering the fact that I am a Pachuca fan and El Tri comes here every other month…I shall stay here and catch Pachuca !
well im not a big fan of pachuca but i pull for all FMF and MLS teams in the CONCACAF Champions League…unless my pumas ( :’( ) are playing against another FMF team…anyway im drifting away from the subject. Golazo from Damian Alvarez for pachuca. While im here, i have to say im upset at my pumas…they’re taking a knife to a gun fight. bad way to defend a championship. i seriously doubt we are going to re-peat. 5 games without a win. but then again, clausura 09 we won first 2 games then didnt win for 5 games in a row. so who knows…thats all…
Boy I’m glad weaver is coming back, we need more ideas in midfield an up.
Questions: How do you get the Supporter’s shield?
Will this give a slot in CCL?
If so, is this a top priority for Dynamo to get into next year’s CCL?
Chivas and Crew will catch up with us soon.
KC Supporter’s Shiled is awarded to whoever accumulates the most points during the regular season, I guees is proper since you’re treating your fans to good results regardless of what happens in the MLS playoffs. Yes, the Supporter’s Shield qualifies dirctly to the CCL, you don’t have to play in a playoff like the MLS Cup runner up and the winner of the US Open cup do.
As you saw DC United (US Open Cup winners) eliminated Firpo, and New York Red Bulls (Runner up to the MLS Cup) got eliminated by W Connection (Sad) I think they qualify thru a caribean spot
Toronto could of been in the group with Columbus, Saprissa and Cruz Azul but lost at home to Puerto Rico Islanders.
Here’s how MLS qualifes for CCL, The MLS Cup champions qualify directly to the group phase, the Supporter’s Shield Winner does the same, then the MLS Cup runner up qualifies for a playoff and the US Open Cup winner does the same, in case the Supporter’s Shield make it to the final, then the team with most poins after that takes it’s place that’s why the Dynamo made it this year directly since Crew had the Shield and won!
Wow Puerto Rico just scored, they came to play today they’re actually trying to win! Saprissa is looking very weak, they didn’t put much of a fight against a Cruz Azul B team and now are losing at home to the Islanders
Puerto Rico might make another run!
And as soon as you said that Edwin…Saprissa scores twice
…MY PACHUCA WON 5-0!!!!!!!!!!
I know Leo, I liked what I saw much better than the last 3 games, how about the Torres boys?
Goyo got a lucky bounce and Jose is starting to come into his own, he is being a little more selfish and taking on people and ripping shots, did you see the shot he hit off the crossbar? He had some really nice passes too, looks like the strong Pachuca of old is back?
Here’s how Jozy did on Saturday, Jozy should have had the 1st opportunity but the other 2 he made a lot of that turn was World Class, he really is making that his signature move, he did it to Capdevilla of Spain in the Confeds Semifinal

For those of you who still think that Jozy doesn’t have the touch and Ching’s “Hold up play” is still worthy of keeping Jozy on the bench check this out
FWI, Ching couldn’t hold on to any balls vs Mexico

Glenn,
Did you see the Green Street Hooliganism yesterday at Upton Park between West Ham and Milwall fans? It was an absolute disgrace to the game of soccer, and left one person stabbed. It is a shame that these things happen.
No one is complaining about DC getting the nod before the Dynamo on the Live Broadcast on FSC? Those guys are idiots. DC is mediocre this year and will not get past the group stage. And Arabe Unido whooped up on Pachuca – I can’t wait to see the Dynamo play these guys. Oh – I guess I have to…
Toolsheds…
Goyo Torres made two great assists for goal and scored a goal he deserved for his hustle on the pitch…Gringo Torres is finally doing what he has needed to do and that is shoot on goal…I mean he used to rarely shoot on goal at least now he grew a pair
…see I dont understand Bradley, he’ll call up Ricardo Clark, Holden, and Ching because of good games they have in the MLS and I don’t want to bring the MLS down a notch but i’ll prefer to put somebody to play that plays against teams like Chivas, America, Toluca, Puebla, Atlas, Pumas, Cruz Azul, and others rather than players that play against FC Frisco, New Jersey Pink Cows, Real Salt Lake, and San Jose Earthquakes…but maybe that’s just me. If Bradley has the character to not call up Freddy Adu because of his bad games why not show some attitude and give Torres a FULL game to play? Come on Torres can play both flanks so seeing Holden on one Flank and Torres on the other sending in deadly passes to Ching, Altidore, or Donovan would be sweet. But yet again I may be a tad bias
Hi guys,
Just to let you know to be on the lookout for the official afterparty which will follow the Mexico/Columbia- Fc Dallas/NewEngland games on September 30th.
Hopefully you should get a chance to spend time with the players from both matches and discuss the results over a cold cerveza.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
