LA GALAXY 48 points
SEATTLE SOUNDERS FC 47 points
HOUSTON DYNAMO 45 points
CHIVAS USA 45 points
The LA Galaxy have won the Western Conference title by virtue of a 2-0 win against San Jose last night. The Dynamo with a win would secure 2nd in the west and then take on the Seattle Sounders in the playoffs gaining home field advantage. With a tie the Dynamo would end up third based on tie-breaker advantage over Chivas USA and again play Seattle but without home field advantage. With a loss the Dynamo would take on the LA Galaxy .
Real Salt Lake have also secured a playoff spot and will cross-over to the Eastern Conference as the fifth place team in the west. NE with a win today at Columbus can get into the playoffs.
Great “classics” take place today with Manchester United taking on Liverpool in England, Boca Jrs. vs. River Plate in Argentina and Chivas against America in Mexico.
