Kick Cancer Spotlight #1: Mark Zylker – Kingwood Alliance Soccer Club

With the Kick Cancer charity soccer camps set to take place December 14th – December 16th, Glenndavissoccer.com would like to spotlight the hosting soccer clubs and venues that will help facilitate this charity event. Glenndavissoccer.com is greatly indebted to those that support the Kick Cancer charity program and other causes that are of great benefit to the community and its members. Glenndavissoccer.com will provide statements from a member of each hosting soccer club in order to show the proper appreciation for the efforts that are being made to make Kick Cancer possible each and every year.

Spotlight #1: Mark Zylker of Kingwood Alliance Soccer Club: Co-founder and current president

The goal of our club is “to foster the love of soccer for all, no matter their age or level of play, with the hopes of creating a passion that will transcend into being ambassadors of this great sport for the rest of their life time.

I, like many of us, have family and friends who have battled with cancer. It takes a tremendous physical and emotional toll on all who are associated with it. From the beginning, Kingwood Alliance Soccer Club has always set aside time to give back to the community. Our professional soccer staff along with our office personnel have been encouraged and expected to give of themselves for the youth of our local area. Being a part of the Kick Cancer program gives us that opportunity much more now and on a grander scale.

Youth sports are a great vehicle for personal esteem, self-awareness and team-building. By using youth sports as a vehicle for cancer awareness, we are opening the eyes and hearts of many young individuals who will learn at an early age the virtues of compassion and cooperation.”
