MANCHESTER UNITED was dominant and took it up another gear in the 2nd half to knock off CHELSEA yesterday. Continue with your thoughts today on the subject and we will carry it on to the radio show tonite. So was UNITED that dominant or was CHELSEA that bad? Or combination of both…….How about the move from ALEX FERGUSON putting RYAN GIGGS into center midfield instead of MICHAEL CARRICK. Brilliance!!!
Big Phil and CHELSEA is another story, clearly he has not got the stars of the team (FRANK LAMPARD, JOHN TERRY) in his corner? CHELSEA fans don’t hide…..the warning signs are there real clearly. Was the decision to hire FELIPE SCOLARI a disaster?

DAVID BECKHAM your favorite soccer player again defied the critics by starting under CARLO ANCELOTTI for AC MILAN yesterday and going almost the distance in a 2-2 draw with ROMA. Of course a young, hungry BRAZILIAN PATO stole the show and showed the old guard a thing or two. The kid was brilliant.
Your thoughts on BECKHAM and PATO……

Stunned to find ice on my windshield this morning in Houston, Texas.

Man U was as dominant as Chelsea was poor. From the first whistle, little was in doubt. Personally, I would put Deco in midfield with Ballack and J.O. Mikel, & Lampard and have Anelka upfront with Drogba.

I think it is good for MLS that Beckham is playing in Serie A. The more MLS is represented in the transfer window, the better. It is good for the reputation of the league….

By the way….Pato’s second goal was very nice. Precision and touch…

    Glenn:

Any idea what position the Dynamo might be targeting in this week’s draft? I imagine they will just have to go with best abvailable player with only 3rd/4th time.

It was nice to see Landon Donovan look good his first time out for Bayern.

O4, while I agree with your sentiments on the “reputation” of the League, you apparently have not seen some of the comments in the Italian press. Corriere dello Sport writes for instance: “Beckham has not had a meaningful match since June 2007….”. While I agree that he has not had many meaningful matches for the Galaxy Circus as far as MLS goes, it would appear that from comments like that the Italians are really not to kind to the reputation of our League. Best game of the weekend was Valencia vs. Villarreal by far, followed by the Interliga finals.

Ice on the windshield dittoes Glenn!

I want to dump Scolari for two reasons. He’s pants as a manager and he looks like my ex-wife’s husband.
