DAVID BECKHAM your favorite soccer player again defied the critics by starting under CARLO ANCELOTTI for AC MILAN yesterday and going almost the distance in a 2-2 draw with ROMA. Of course a young, hungry BRAZILIAN PATO stole the show and showed the old guard a thing or two. The kid was brilliant.

Man U was as dominant as Chelsea was poor. From the first whistle, little was in doubt. Personally, I would put Deco in midfield with Ballack and J.O. Mikel, & Lampard and have Anelka upfront with Drogba.
I think it is good for MLS that Beckham is playing in Serie A. The more MLS is represented in the transfer window, the better. It is good for the reputation of the league….

O4, while I agree with your sentiments on the “reputation” of the League, you apparently have not seen some of the comments in the Italian press. Corriere dello Sport writes for instance: “Beckham has not had a meaningful match since June 2007….”. While I agree that he has not had many meaningful matches for the Galaxy Circus as far as MLS goes, it would appear that from comments like that the Italians are really not to kind to the reputation of our League. Best game of the weekend was Valencia vs. Villarreal by far, followed by the Interliga finals.
