Former Dynamo Danny Cruz speaks on what it takes to beat Dynamo!

GD: Your thoughts on coming back to Houston?

DCruz:
I am excited to be coming back with the Union and playing in an amazing stadium in front of fans I grew to love. I know it is an important game for the Dynamo but unfortunately I will be on the other side it.

GD:
Was it extra satisfying defeating the Dynamo in Philly the last time the teams met?

DCruz:
Absolutely, it was an important win for us and I honestly think we played a great all around game. This game is huge for the Dynamo coming up for playoff implications. For us we need to the finish the year strong and we have an opportunity to play spoiler. We are on a nice run right now and we know the importance.

GD:
How has John Hackworth kept motivation or does that simply come from the individual player?

DC:
Hack has been alot of our motivation.
Alot of us are playing to represent him.
We have complete trust and faith in John and we do everything on the field to give him confidence . Hackworth has made the transition very easy on and off the field. He has been an unbelievable manager. You are seeing the results of his mark of a manger.

What type of manager is he?

DCruz:
His door is always open and he always wants to hear your side of things.
He is a great teacher, he was my coach at the u17′s, I continue to learn and he has been great with those type of things. He allows young players to express ourselves on the field. If you make a mistake it is not the end of the world.
The feeling as a player doesn’t get better than that.

GD:
Do you believe next year the Union need the addition of a few more veterans or experienced players?

DCruz:
For me there is not a doubt in my mind that they will do what is best for this club. Whatever changes they make are for the best interests of the club, the fan base and to get results. I expect them to do what is best.
There is no doubt that the future of club is going in right direction.

GD:
What does it take for the Union to be successful against the Dynamo Saturday night on national tv?

DCruz: I think if we continue to do the things we have been doing the last two weeks…staying organized, a strong start, keep do what we have been doing.
Stay together through the tough spots during the game.

GD:
Now tell me more specifically what is important?

DCruz: Brad Davis is one of the best players in the league so we must make sure we close him down and limit his time.
Defensively we need to continue to be sharp, finish chances.

GD:
Anything you want to say to the fans?

DCruz:
I am looking forward to seeing them. I appreciate all the club has done for me and the opportunity that was given to me by Houston. This weekend I plan on getting a result against the Dynamo and hindering their chances of making the playoffs.
