Fear not Dynamo fans, you will miss few games….

Many were and still are up in arms about the Dynamo tv deal with Comcast Sports Network.
Much of this is around the fact that it is not distributed in all cable systems but the fact of the matter is you will miss few Dynamo games over the air.

The club recently announced the addition of Channel 55 KTBU MEGA TV which is the new Spanish home of the Houston Dynamo and will broadcast seven Dynamo road games. This deal provides another alternative to Comcast until they get in all cable systems.
I changed to Comcast because I want all Dynamo games plus their programming which includes BEIN SPORT and Spain’s La Liga and the Italian Serie A.

So the hope is before the Dynamo season starts this distribution piece will be resolved so all are happy, if not fans will at least have the option to watch an additional 7 road games on local tv.

Add to this the 19 national games that the Dynamo will be involved in plus additional coverage to the best of my knowledge of Local 2 Sports and you will likely only have 8 games at home that will be hard to find.

As I have said being down at Comcast to go on their news shows the coverage is going to be the best that soccer has ever gotten locally with tertiary support on nightly news shows, weekly Dynamo show and a monthly Dynamo show.
This will likely bring tv coverage to 239 hours which combines with 366 hours on the radio with a great partner in Gow Media whose sole professional content is the Dynamo.

Spoken like a true individual who has Comcast asking them to be the face of soccer, or at least a talking head. For those lliving off the grid, ie. not under contract to Time Warner/Comcase/Xfinity or U-Verse, etc., they’re left with watching Ch. 2 and Ch. 55 for the duration.

I don’t know what your choices are in your area but I can’t see it making you this angry when 19 games are on national tv, another 14 or so on over the air in Houston and likely only 8 home games not covered if in fact they don’t get a deal done.
I am only giving my opinion, you are entitled to yours. For the amount of years I have been in television and radio I have not seen two groups….Comcast and Gow Media with as much excitement over the sport of soccer. They need to be held to the fire but for the moment I am excited after years and years of dealing with some giving the game lip service.
What is your alternative to being upset? Would you change service? Can you change service? No need to be upset at me really, I guess.
What was so great about the prior years tv packages by the way, every year fans complain about the tv package. Wouldn’t you take the deal as the Dynamo finally getting paid for your brand, sending commentators to stadiums and paying full production costs so you can produce better broadcasts?
The fact is the Dynamo don’t get tv ratings and that is the missing piece to the puzzle.
    Sorry if I upset you.
