Dynamo pick two at MLS Superdraft……

The MLS Superdraft concluded in Kansas City with the general theme more on attacking players.
The Houston Dynamo had two picks and gathered Colin Rolfe a striker from Louisville along with UCF midfielder Warren Creavalle.
Rolfe will compete at the forward position and I quickly am reminded about his 1g3a performance for the 12the seeded Cardinals in the NCAA third round win over Maryland who was seeded 5th. Rolfe adds depth to the Dynamo at the striker position
Creavalle is from Georgia and was on the MAC Hermann watch list, a holding type central midfield player he could be used as cover for expected starting duo Adam Moffat and Luiz Camargo.
Both will need to prove quickly that they can cut it in

It looks to me like Sturgis backs up Moffat and Creavalle plays this year in reserve matches unless we get hit with injuries. Hard to say anything about our forwards since it looks like we are not done acquiring players at that position. I was looking over the roster the other day and it really hit me how young we are across the board. That’s exciting.

Glenn, it looks like we may not be adding any right wingers and so I’m curious what you think about that position heading into camp. Is it wide open or does Clarke or Watson have an edge over the other (or what happens if Cruz signs?). I’m interested in your thoughts on the position.

Kenney Cooper to NYRB a surprise move. The top priority to me would be assuring the visa and contract terms are set for Luke Rodgers return. Rogers was instrumental in RedBull attack and played perfectly off Henry. Also a better bargain- Rodger’s-$180,000,Cooper-$267,000 per.

With a low pick in each round, we did well to find good supporting players. Give them a year or two to develop, and they could be starters. We need to be patient, and let Dom n staff groom them.

Still waiting for big name signings at right midfield and up top.

    Garret,
I think that we are going to see the Dynamo pick up 2 foriegn signings. 1 striker and 1 right winger. Somone just as good as Brad Davis on the right side of the field would make the team very dangerous indeed.
