Dynamo do it again by defeating Toronto FC on road

The Dynamo picked up their first win on the road since back in March against San Jose as they continue their winning surge as of late and have steamed to within one point of Eastern Conference leaders the New York Red Bulls.

Calen Carr and Brian Ching provided goals with Carr’s coming dramatically on the stroke of halftime after a flick on from Bobby Boswell off a corner.
Ching in a starting role scored in the 86th minute.

The Dynamo have done a wonderful job of protecting goalkeeper Tally Hall in the last seven games having only conceded one goal.
The club now has moved up in the standings to second place and ironically now will be playing first place New York Red Bulls and Thierry Henry in back to back games to add to the excitement!!

Your thoughts on the Dynamo road win at Toronto FC?

WILL THE REAL SPAIN AND MEXICO STAND UP?
In Olympic mens soccer today brings us to interesting matches with Mexico taking on Gabon in their second group game while Spain plays Honduras.

Both Mexico and Spain got off to less than impressive starts at the Olympics and will need a good result in their second group game.

Don’t be surprised to see one or both of these teams produce good games today. Mexico needs more from Gio Dos Santos while Spain is led by Juan Mata of Chelsea.

This team is ready for another run. Dom and his staff has got the team playing good.
I am not sure we need Clark at this time. We need a young fast center back that can learn from Boswell and Andre. Hope Corey injury is not serious.
    Lets run the table
    Go dynamo

    Tinman:

Agree with you on Dynamo playing well, and about Cory.

Have to disagree with you on Clark. IF he didn’t lose anything in his time away (big if – see Ngweyna sp?), then he is one of the pieces we need… A no nonsense enforcer to sit in front of the CBs. Moffet is OK, and has moments of goodness (not greatness), but we miss that strong defensive mid presence. I think Taylor is the CB paired with Boswell for the foreseeable future… Not sure how young, but certainly strong, fast and good, getting better.

The piece we need is a replacement for Ching. Props to the man for getting it done last night, but he’s done at the end of the season. Carr and Kanji (sp?) are proving their worth wide in the 4-3-3. Who steps in for Bruin when he’s hurt or needs a needs a rest?

  3. Tinman says:

    Good pts Tom
Not sure i would bring in another player when the team is begining to roll. Yes we need a young finisher but everybody is looking for them too. I think Weaver could get some pt and increase his trade value to other teams. We might get a draft pick for him. Weaver could give Bruin a rest. No he is not as fast but he is a better header and target player.
Taylor is playing great. I would like to have some speed there with Geoff leaving for Europe.
    Go dynamo

I also would like to see Weaver get some PT. it would be interesting to see what he can do in the 4-3-3, but I think you are right Tinman, ultimately I don’t think he is anything other than trade bait, and given recent history a draft pick would likely be the best we get.

  5. JAKE says:

The best I have seen our team play in the last 3 years! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Leave the team alone we are doing great. We are going to see how good we really are playing the Red Bulls and if we dominate we need to start making plans for the MLS championship game.

  6. Jeter says:

Adam Moffat hasn’t played anywhere near the speed he played last season. Neither has Camargo and I’ve been singing his praise for months. Davis wasn’t either but in the beginning but he’s come up to speed. Ching finally kicked some Canadian rust off his boots and got a goal in the run of play which was nice but his time is coming to a close. I’m not sure how much playing time Ricardo Clark had overseas and it’s apparent that he wasn’t playing too hot or his team would’ve have let him out of his contract. I’m sure they wanted to sell him or loan him out but had no takers. Even with all this depth at defense and in the midfield, we still need a strong defensive midfielder like Geoff Cameron and a strong attacking midfielder like Dwayne DeRosario. I still say they need to get Stuart Holden back on loan with Houston so he can get match-fit for Bolton.
