The Dynamo will have to do it for the next three games without All Star defender Eddie Robinson.
Robinson was fined $1000 and suspended for three games and it will put the pressure on Dynamo defenders Bobby Boswell and Patrick Ianni in his abscence. That pressure will start this weekend with Landon Donovan playing upfront for the LA Galaxy.
Robinson struck KC defender Tyson Wahl as they jostled for position on a corner kick this past weekend in the 0-0 draw.
Wahl’s lip was cut.
Robinson may not have played anyway since his knee is swollen and filled with fluid yet the strength of Robinson as one of the best defenders in MLS was blotted with this incident.
Robinson was a surprise starter in Kansas City after passing a late fitness test and other than the incident with Wahl was one of the best players on the field.

That sucks but isn’t too surprising.
Robinson is a hard nosed player, no more so than any other player in the EPL for example. The roughness of play in that league is mind boggling as well as in the Italian League. The speed of the game is such that collisions and forearms in the face are almost routine. If you see an attacker with the ball, the defender is trying to knock him over physically or pull him down by his jersey. That is just the way the game is played. In the MlS the play is hardnosed and no quarter is given. Robinson’s injury would have kept him out of one game and possibly two. Still his abscence hurts. The Orange are not in sinc yet. Ashe is the only one with break away speed. When he’s flying down the flank, the attack becomes more dangerous. I am really concerned with the lack of shots on goal. Too much passing and too little shots on goal. Let’s see what happens in L.A. If the outcome is gruesome, look for changes to come (jmo).-
