The Dynamo are still seeking out there first win of the season after a 1-0 loss at DC United last night.
Dynamo manager Dominic Kinnear had to watch this one from the press box as John Spencer took over the coaching duties.
After a measured first half where the Dynamo could say they had the better chances a mistake by Bobby Boswell in the 2nd half against his former teammates allowed Luciano Emilio to get in behind the Dynamo defense and lob an on-rushing Pat Onstad which is no easy task.
The Dynamo would push and get some late long range efforts most notably from Brad Davis and Stuart Holden but in the end it was not to be.
The Dynamo seemed to get a new level of urgency after the Emilio goal which looked to spark them until DC United coach Tom Soehn brought on Fred which took the momentum away from the Dynamo before Spencer went to his bench to bring on Cory Ashe which wrestled the momentum and possession back.
In the end a disappointing loss to DC United who created few chances and were far from impressive.
The Dynamo at times seemed tentative, overly methodical and unsure in attack.
The Dynamo are expected and hopeful of getting Ade Akinbiyi from Burnley in England to training this week.
With a draw and two losses three games in to the season what are your thoughts on the Dynamo ?
Seattle has picked up the full 9 pts in three games winning in Toronto this weekend 2-0 despite not having Fredy Montero. Freddy Ljunberg got his first as a Sounder.
Manchester United has this way of introducing young talent on the big stage and they did it again. Federico Macheda a former Lazio youth system player produced a 90th minute game winner to put the Red Devils back at the top of the Premiership against Aston Villa. Cristiano Ronaldo also had two goals in the 3-2 win. Liverpool got a late goal from Benayoun go squeak out a 1-0 victory over Fulham.
Bayern Munich was blasted 5-1 by Wolfsburg giving up yes, 4 goals in 14 minutes in the second half after Luca Toni had tied things at one. Edin Dzeko and Grafite had two goals in this historic romp. FC Hollywood and Juergan Klinsmann get blasted.
Get set for Champions League action this week while the Dynamo will head home Saturday to take on the New York Red Bulls and Juan Pablo Angel and Dane Richards.
Richards formerly played at San Jacinto College.

Hey Glenn
What are you thoughts of Javier Saviola coming to the MLS when his contract ends with Real Madrid?
At this point, a Stadium announcement would be nice!!! Anyone got anything new on this???
I think the Dynamo has to work on their offense, I know the San Jose game was cool, but that was poor defense on both sides from what I can tell. They need to develop an identity with Ching, Ade or Kamara, Holden, Clark, Davis and whoever else plays mid, the back wings don’t seem to support much, I think they could work on that, but the age & lack of speed from some of them probably prevents them from it.
Bayern are on a downspiral, Ribery might be out so could Lham, I think there’s another player who might miss the game vs Barca, Messi, Henry, Alves are rested, only played about 30 minutes as far as Messi and Alves and Henry took the day off, Marquez didn’t even go to Mexico, Puyol as well, Pique played just one game and Eto had time to rest! Barca needs to get 3 goal or more at Camp Nou to hopefully play for the tie, and just in case Bayern get the one goal, they can hold them at that!
Aguirre could be a solution, I just don’t think is the whole solution! La Coruna lost again, is only a matter of time till summer comes and Guardado goes somewhere else?
Boswell looks and is slower than molasses. Barret has lost 3 steps and Mulrooney isn’t much faster. Cameron was the only back with any pace to be able to go forward without jepordizing his assignment. Youv’e got a fast 24yr old in James. You might as well develop him now. He can at least recover with speed. Wondolowski starting?!?! What is that all about? Not very technical, slow, amd fearful. Go get a real stricker. That young left-sided Salvadorean that gave the US fits would probably come over for cheap. Start negotiating now.
Daniel, I thought I was the only one who thought of this, I been saying someone should pick him up since they hired their new Dutch striker, it just doesn’t seem he’ll ever see the field at Real Madrid with Higuain, Raul, Hunteelar and whoever else they have in their arsenal!
Blanco sounds like he is starting to be very unsatisfied at Chicago, could the Dynamo make a move for him?
My favorite moment of the Wolfsburg – Bayern match was when Felix Magath subbed out his starting Goalie Benaglio with a few minutes left. Talk about getting in a dig at your opponent.
Maybe it is just me, but does our Dynamo team seem to lack focus and concentration? It’s one thing to get beat on a spectacular play or shot, but we are giving up a bunch of garbage goals because marking is breaking down, bad positioning and putting Pat O in bad spots that even if he was a few years younger would be tough to deal with.
Just a few observations on my part. Ade Adenbiki will solidify the forward position in my mind. I think he will complemnet Ching/Kamara upfront very well. The next step is to get them the ball. Holden needs to take charge. He needs to be the playmaker. Hinnault needs to play and sit James down. That would make a tough backcourt to penetrate. Ashe needs to start and sit Wade Barret down. Cameron needs to play in one of the middle positions, he has long strides and handles the ball very well. Mullan should play wide and so should Mulrooney. The Orange need to dedicate more time to passing. Nice, hard, crisp passes that are well handled. Mulrooney needs to cut back some of the those passes down the pitch. Most of the time they are ineffectual. There is a lack of confidence in the play and you can sense it. Score a few goals and the mind set changes. The play is still erratic but I believe will get better with time and newer players. Go Orange.
I agree that the Dynamo looked very uninspired for most of the night, of course until we got scored on! with more roster movements than we are used to, it will take some time to get the right formula, we do have the players to get it done! we just need to get out players in the right spots. I love the idea of Cameron in the Middle, I liked how HE pushed the ball foward towards the end of the game! why not try him in the Center mid??? I hopefully Hinnault can step up to take that other center back postion with Boswell. and why not start james instead or barret on the wing??? I hope, nevermind, I KNOW Coach DK can get these guys in the positions to win! I hope we have our break through game vs. NY Redbulls!!! By the way as far as the stadium goes… I don’t understand why those county commish’s are talking about the ticket prices for the new Dynamo Stadium, I just bought a pair of tickets to the Astros game, and I’d rather not say how much I ACTUALLY paid! let’s just say that it’s NOT the average price of a MOVIE TICKET! – $$$ ouch!!!
Good one, Luis.
Luis, I know is not like El Franco Lee or Sylvia Garcia attend Texans games within the little people in nose bleeds and pay 50 or 60 dollars per ticket or whatever the cheapest tickets are at Reliant, I’m sure their luxury box tickets are as much as 4 luxury sideline tickets for the Dynamo season tickets are!
