If you witnessed the Dynamo 2-2 draw I would like your opinion on the game.
A couple of things to quickly point out that has come out of this game:
*RICARDO CLARKE was missed.
*BRIAN MULLAN apparently was suffering from exhaustion.
*BRAD DAVIS made a difference and DWAYNE DEROSARIO produced a key play in stoppage time to earn the 2-2 draw.
* EDDIE ROBINSON getting ejected means two of the physically strongest forwards in MLS JUAN PABLO ANGEL and JOZY ALTIDORE come to town with the RED BULLS on Saturday night at ROBERTSON STADIUM and won’t have to deal with one of MLS’s better defenders with Robinson suspended.
MLS PRIME TIME THURSDAY TONITE AT 6:30PM ON ESPN 2
* NE Revolution at home against DC United whom the Dynamo will play next Wednesday in DC.
Youth have been carrying the Revs with Sainey Nyassi, Kenny Mansally and Kheli Dube scoring 6 of their 13 goals in the abscence of Taylor Twellman.
DC looks to respond after a come from behind 3-2 win over Toronto FC this past weekend with ARGENTINE MARCELLO GALLARDO and BRAZILIAN LUCIANO EMILIO beginning to find form.
*ANOTHER RANDOM THOUGHT ON THE U.S. /ENGLAND GAME
Of course these games can be looked upon as “friendlies’, but I hate that terminology.
For the United States this was more than a friendly. For proven soccer nations like Brazil, Argentina, Italy….they can call it a “friendly”.
For the United States it is a measuring stick for the team and the public when you play England. Conditions and situation with you or not, it doesn’t matter. We have to begin to measure ourselves from these games not Concacaf countries and that means in the press as well. It was a poor performance and not much stood out from the U.S.
Good news was DaMarcus Beasley returning and if you are a fan of MLS and one of your players like Ricardo Clark in Houston got valuable minutes than it was positive.
The game did nothing for the image of U.S. soccer.

Mr. Bradley,
Please, please, please no more Eddie Johnson. He hasn’t got the soccer IQ for the national team level, maybe against concacaf but England sorry Mr. B that is a poor decision then Josh Wolff and Nate Jaqua are you serious. Cooper deserved the chance and if these games are for preperation call in Jozy. What are you doing not starting Adu, yes he is still young but he was the best player I saw out there yesterday. He is very dangerous, creative, and see’s the game really well he and Donovan need all the time they can get playing with each other, when they get on the same page with their Soccer IQ I believe we will actually be able to attack the big boys. So for one last time NO MORE EJ!!! Please people leave Bradley and Rico alone when going up against that midfield I think as young and green as they are they deserve room to breathe. And quick question Glen what was your thoughts on Oneywu yesterday I thought he did rather well, but from what I have read alot of people seem to disagree?
Glenn:
I have a comment on the Dynamo game against FC Dallas. It was brutally hot but the weather was the same for both teams. Kenny Cooper told one reporter they were not afraid that the Dynamo would get behind them. Inferring to the lack of speed on the Dynamo team. The only player that can fly is Ashe and he made his presence felt in the second half. The more I see him play, the better I like him. Towards the end of the game, DeRosario was playing up front with Ching and the offense seemed to click. Ching gets beat on alot and needs help in the box. The team as a whole played very poorly. They seemed a step slow and out of sync. The second half was a little better but they could not string passes together for any stretch of time. This team is a step slower than last year with many veterans. I don’t see them going to the finals. They need a player like Brad Davis full time. They are still very dangerous but their defense which was so stellar last year is not the same. Boswell is not the player he was several years ago, nor is Waibel and Mullan. Mulrooney, although I love his hustle, can not make deep passes. If they had a guy like Blanco with his pin-point passing, this team would be unstoppable. Too many players breaking clear only to see the ball nowhere near them. I love my Dynamo but I see a change coming in the next year or so. I hope I am wrong.
Bob Bradely starts his selection for our Starting XI by penciling in his son’s name…after that mistake wasn’t bad enough against a side like England he forces Demps and Beaz out wide and in static roles, then our outside backs do not get up the field like they were instructed under The Bruce.
Our nation has the technical ability to field a quality 4 man mid. I would go to battle with Donovan, Dempsey, Adu, Clark, Edu, and Benny any day. From that six should be our center.
Oh and one more thing…HOW SWEET IT IS TO STEAL A POINT FROM YOUR ARCH RIVAL’S HOME GROUND!!!
fc frisco and their Infernobs, thanks for the hospitality guys.
DALE DYNAMO!!!
Celt,
First problem…didn’t get any posession against England, second is the 6 players that you have mentioned in midfield, most are attacked oriented .
It seems Bob Bradley is fast tracking Michael Bradley, Ricardo Clark, Heath Pearce to get them experience. For me a central midfield has to have someone who can initiate attacks and open the game up with their passing brain. Doesn’t hurt to have someone out of that position that can run at defenses.
Donovan, Dempsey and Adu are out and out attcking players.
As Onyewu I think he is clearly an automatic choice at this point and Bocanegra seems to be his partner at this stage ideally from what we have seen from Bob Bradley.
Eddie Johnson needs to get some nerve for me and face defenses and take a few people on….a hunger to get at people and get in the box. Draw a few fouls. He is not a great finisher so the U.S. must get something else out of him as a striker.
This position is a point of contention.
Donovan sorely missed yesterday.
Glenn – I\’m new to soccer. Last night the announcer said there is 4 min of stoppage time. I noticed the clock continues to run when the ball is out of play. Is that part of it? Would you please explain this term. Thanks
Stoppage time includes action both in and out of play.
