Don’t get crazed Chelsea fans, I can appreciate a good collective day of defending and do appreciate how they set their stall out the last match against Barcelona in the historic win. I find it hilarious that some segments of the media are calling it anti-football.
It’s actually the only way they can compete to be fair. Think about that, pretty amazing statement when the quality of players worth multi millions is littered on the Chelsea roster. Oh, do the “blues” desire this badly.
Heading into the Nou Camp they are up 1-0 on aggregate and are positioned pretty well based on the missed chances in the first leg from the Barca boys.
Roberto DiMatteo also wisely rested 8 starters in the Chelsea/Arsenal league game this past weekend.
How much does the emotion of the El Classico loss to Real Madrid play into this?
Are they tired? Are they weary? Have they lost incentive? Is it purely luck that they lost?
Chelsea manager DiMatteo does deserve credit for taking the edge off Danny Alves and reminding us that if pressure can be put on the Barcelona backs and goalkeeper Victor Valdes, goals can be found.
Is this really happening? Barcelona have not lost three games in a row for 9 years.

Call it whatever you want, biased media. At the end of the day, you play to win the game and that is what Chelsea did!
Coach, are you calling me biased?
Anti- soccer is a termed coined in England by the English press .
Calm down, re-read the blog. Meanwhile, I will reel you in.
I think Barca wins this game easily even though they are on short rest. Adrenaline always takes over, if not that then pride. There is no anti-football, at the end of the day a W is a W and can be celebrated as just that. Sometimes the best team doesnt win, but thats why they play the game. I think the x-factor here is the weather, if its raining it causes Barca a lot of problem with their precision passing, slashing, and running into spaces, that couple with Chelsea’s physical play. Chelsea clogging up the back doesnt hold forever, the formula for Barca should be to attack on the wings to strech the defense and loosen up the middle and they they can filter the ball through like they always do. Where Chelsea could win this game is on the free kicks, corner kicks. Barca is extremely short, they struggle to win the ball in the air and Chelsea is more physical. It is like watching the US take on Spain all over again and we all know what happened there. Possesion means nothing if you dont put it in the net.
“The next ball from Gaven, he did not hit it with his purse”
… I love it.
Coach H of course realizes the irony in his statement, being clearly biased himself. I just hope for a good match… and for Chelsea to lose. COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
