I think it’s a great result for D.C. United taking into account that they played a man down the entire second half against a team that attacked them relentlessly. When the two teams each had 11 men, I saw a very even match technically. The gap is closing. It will be an interesting match next Tuesday in Guadalajara.

Great win! I love these tournaments. Now, can Chivas USA beat DC and Chivas Guadelajara not beat DC? When is the Chivas “Family Fued” – Chivas Guadelajara vs Chivas USA? And how about no more baseball at RFK, no more postgame chainsawing the field? Those “second base” passes get mighty bouncy still….Ben Olsen, national team?

good game over all but just because dc united beat cd chivas it does not mean that the gap is closing. IF anyone follows the mexican premier league then you guys would know that Pachuca, America, and Chivas are all having a struggling season but this 2-1 is not a good result for dc united they should be ready to go to El Monumental to struggle…

Disagree Jovanny and I hear that you are a big Chivas fan. The gap has closed because of the slow methodical rise of the game in MLS.
Mexican teams find it a challenge to play MLS teams that is clear.
DC United wins playing half a game with ten men, so maybe a little credit is due.
It’s only not a good result based on their next game at Chivas, but if you weren’t winning these games one and two years ago why wouldn’t you use it as a positive?
Yes Atlante and Santos Laguna are the best teams in Mexico right now.
Pachuca is the bigger surprise to me. America and Chivas have not been impressive at all.
