Soccer is unfortunately still a business so change is inevitable. With the demise of the Reserve League and the reduced roster spots it is even harder to keep everyone together. The trick is trying to find a balance between the now and the future.
Priority should be given to keeping Bobby Boswell. Finding another Striker would also be nice as we will likely be without Brian Ching a bit this year. Some Youth at the Keeper Position to prepare for the future.
I agree with prioritizing boswell. I believe he’s the strongest link of the backline. I think dynamo should focus on getting another fast defender. Robinson is losing his defensive marbles and I don’t now how much longer till they’re all gone. I would like to see a good mexican striker, not a DP or an experiment a-la caraccio but a ‘quiet’ one. I still don’t think its time for a DP. Kenny cooper?
…
I know, I know…keep dreaming.
Amen to the faster defender need. Barrett is tireless and very smart and controlled but time catches up with all of us. On the other hand I like Boswell but don’t want to over pay for him. Frankly, I would like to see Cameron playing inside just to see how it would work out. We have to get younger like it or not in my opinion. With no reserves those last players on the bench have got to be versatile and mainly athletic. Surely there is some place for an athelete like Kyle Brown for instance. He’s big, strong and runs like a greyhound. With make up speed like his, he might look good at left or right back. I think it would be an interesting experiment. But that’s for Dom to sort out.
Oh I forgot to mention one more thing. Nice new picture Glenn, you look like “The Fonz” in your tough, black leather jacket.
no cameron on defense…i think chaballa might be able to step in for barett already.
Can anyone recap what Sigi said.
I’m listening now, but I think I missed it.
Or I will just listen to the podcast.
What the world coming to when Boswell is considered the bargain on the year? Seriously he was good in so many games, but awful in the important games
6-1 osaka gamba
3-1 pumas
3-0 houston
he is slow and ineffective, he was one of the reasons why Houston did not make the championship. He is a good AVERGAGE player who gets beat on several occasions. Now considering Wells was worst than a 10 year old, then yes Boswell was a bargain. Houston always had rock solid defenders and Boswell is not solid
