  1. Leo says:

Compliment James on his superb work; especially at a moment that our team is paper thin.Wonder what Dom has to say about being drawn with Pachuca again? Is he going to concentrate on ConcaChampions all that much? The CEO should totally address the Stadium issue…the people are growing restless… Hope you can get Charlie Davies considering he is going to be part of a USMNT that is going to face Panama then the winner of Canada and Honduras…that is harsh…Will be listening tonight, hopefully this can be (and i’m ashamed to say it) the first time i listen to the whole show live as opposed to Podcast!!!

AUGUST 12 THE USMNT WILL TREMBLE!!!! 30 DAYS LEFT!!!!

  2. Gil says:

Don’t forget the the starters for the MLS All-Star Game will be announced today! Stu? Ching? Cameron?

  3. Jeremy says:

“AUGUST 12 THE USMNT WILL TREMBLE!!!!”

Why? Has coach Aguirre been practicing his kickboxing?

  4. Leo says:

Its always a treat to come and post here and have a couple of laughs from the comebacks that people come up with here. :-)

  5. Martek says:

Tremble at Panama? Only if Carlos Lee shows up wielding a bat (though, come to think of it, maybe not).

Anyway, I will have to miss out tonight due to family engagements Glenn. Some things to address (which I’m sure is already on your list)

    1. The phantom goal in Seattle. That was a 1-1 game in reality. Though this is the last you’ll hear from me on it because it’s over. Look up that box score in 100 years and it’ll say: “Seattle, 2, Houston 1.” Still, how great is it that that cobbled-together line-up played a tough Sounders squad all evens in their own house? Could this be the best Dynamo team yet?

    2. Stuart “Goal-den” Holden. Easily the man of the match against Haiti. Could we start seeing the true elevation of his game? And if so, will this be the last season we have him in Houston? And, if he goes to Europe, what leagues do you think would be best for him? I’m thinking the Bundesliga or Eredivisie.

    3. Stadium. I love all the good vibes from Luck, but am getting nervous with the lack of a signed deal. Perhaps Canetti could shed some light on that, in addition to any potential personnel moves this year.

    4. Ade Akinbiyi. You know, there are times where I’ve thought that he’s a bust, but now I’m beginning to think he’s just getting unlucky. He’s had two goals called back for phantom reasons. If those get called correctly, how much more confidence would we all have in the guy? I still think he’s going to be very important and the difference-maker in two or three games this year.

    5. Potential unsung hero award: Dynamo Marketing Office for putting together watch parties for away games. Great community building from the FO on this one.

Have a great show tonight Glenn. I’ll have to catch the podcast tonight.

  6. Kirk says:

One comment on the “phantom goal” bottom line is that if the AR is not in the correct position to make a close call i.e on the end line(and the AR Saturday was not), then he needs to keep the whistle out of his mouth. This isn’t baseball — the tie doesn’t go to the runner. I guess thats home field advantage for you.

For tonight Glenn, with all the call ups and injuries, we have seen James, Ustruck and Hayden get playing time recently. All 3 of these guys have been loaned out, in fact I think currently Ustruck is currently loaned to Austin. Can you explain how that works, is Dom calling these guys in for Dynamo games and then going back to the USL clubs. I swear the weekend after the open cup i saw Ustruck play for Austin versus Cleveland. I would love a good explanation of how that whole system works. I love that these guys are getting playing time, both for the Dynamo and on loan, I think it will pay dividends as the season goes on.

Oh and is 11.2 on Dish network and what channel?

  7. The Sarge says:

Can you find out whom Dom’s extra picks will be for the All Star game?

  8. R. Lee says:

HI, Glenn! I second Leo and Martek about the stadium deal …. actually the LACK of a signed deal. Please ask Mr. Luck about that and what ideas he saw at Seattle that might transfer here to the Dynamo team/office.

I would also like to have league officiating addresses also. Are THEY ever reprimanded/retrained/fired? Are decisions ever overturned after the fact? Remember that we are pretty new to soccer so we were astounded on the phantom goal call. How about a goal camera or a goal judge dedicated to just that area and not running up and down??

Please pass on GREAT KUDOS to the Dynamo team members/coach and staff. We are proud of how they played!!! Can’t wait until 25 July!!

  9. Leo says:

guessing time didn’t allow for those Gold Cup tix to be given away…Well anyways GREAT SHOW!!!!!!!!! I think i called in or something mentioned Dynamo must win other cups that are not MLS CUPS!!!!!!!

  10. William says:

Glenn- Only pick for MLS All Star first eleven I disagree with is De Rosario- TFC.
Nagamura- Chivas USA or Alonso- Seattle Sounders more worthy this season.
Congrats to your 2 Dynamo picks in Holden and Cameron, sure Onstad will be joining them in Salt Lake.

  11. Dynajoe says:

It will be interesting to see the US squash Mexico on Aug 12. I believe 3-1 US wins in a laugher. As always Mexico will lose its head once their down 2-0 and the crowd will start to boo them.

What I really want to know about is an update on the stadium. It seems like inking the deal could take longer than it would actually take to build it.

    Dynamos were robbed.

All-Star game selections. I think Dominic should take Boswell, Clark, and possibly Ching.

  12. margo says:

What happened to Ching getting on the all star roster???? Far better player than Connor Casey.
