This morning the UEFA Champions League draw took place in Nyon, Switzerland and it has brought us some beauties:
Barcelona v. PSG – A star laden match that pits Zlatan Ibrahimovic against his former team.
Bayern Munich v. Juventus- German v. Italian football should bring us a spectacle.
Malaga v. Dortmund- Manuel Pelligrini being courted by Manchester City tries to work
his magic again against talented Dortmund.
Real Madrid v. Galatasaray- Jose Mourinho and Fatih Terim lock tactical horns.
Didier Drogba against his former manager.
BECKHAM MLS CONTRIBUTIONS BIG
David Beckham may have moved on but consider what occurred during his time in MLS.
Expansion during his time in MLS over six seasons was undeniable.
Nine more soccer specific stadiums were built including BBVA Compass and 7 more teams were added. Salaries doubled and 3000 more fans per game attended.
Not to mention the eyeballs and credibility he brought to MLS.
Anyone involved must be grateful that he came to MLS.

HOPE SOLO OUT IS A GOOD THING?
Personally the Hope Solo self promotion tour is a bit much for me and she is now out for four months.
She seems truly contrived on tv and was it right to publish a tell all book right before the London Olympics when it comes to the esprit de corps of your teammates which from many I talked to on the inside contained lots of fabrication (you know you have to sell books).
Certainly seems to go against the U.S. Womens spirit of the collective group over all these years.
I am sure the likes of, Michelle Akers, Julie Foudy and Mia Hamm are rolling their eyes and biting their tongues.

Glenn- Will be interested to see how Dynamo come out agaist FCD. the Dynamo after their Champions League flop, and FCD after getting clipped at Chivas U.S.A., both sides will want to right the ship.
Wanted to run this by you- Each year I make a road trip to different MLS city and s.s.s. that I have not yet seen a game live in person.
This season was planning on coming to BBVA Compass to see a Dynamo game. Contacted Dynamo thru their web site, asked few basic questions- What is closest airport to stadium? How far airport from stadium? any hotels within walking distance to stadium? Waited 10 days , no response.
Next I called Dynamo front office. Spoke with Kelsay, she couldn’t answer those questions, Huh??
She took my cell number and left a message for Nicole to return my call. That was over 3 weeks ago!Nothing!
For a team that has empty seats every home game, really don’t get the apathy, lazy attitude from Dynamo?
