Bruin double takes Dynamo past Fire in playoffs!

Will Bruin picked the right moment to find his goal scoring touch scoring in both the 12th and the 46th minute to lead the Dynamo to a 2-1 win at Toyota Park over the Chicago Fire.
Both of Bruin’s goals came off of Chicago mistakes that the Dynamo punished .
The win now puts the Dynamo into the Eastern Conference semi-finals against their “real” rivals Sporting Kansas City whom they took the season series from 1-0-2.
Rest assured that Sporting KC does not want to be playing the Dynamo!

KEY GOAL 12th minute BRUIN:
This was the key to the match because not only did this shock the Fire but it also gave the Dynamo the huge tactical advantage forcing the Fire out of their defend and counter attack game.
A defender slipped giving Bruin a clear header off a corner that he delivered past a nervous Sean Johnson.
After this goal the Fire looked confused as how to play and clearly were going against the nature of their defend and counter style.

ONE MINUTE IN TO THE SECOND HALF
The Dynamo grabbed goal number two only one minute into the second half after Rico Clark won a huge tackle found Calen Carr who picked out Will Bruin who scored into the far side netting! The emergence of Bruin in the playoffs is a positive and we all know that strikers thrive on confidence!!!

COULD HAVE PUT THEM AWAY
The Dynamo had clear chances through Calen Carr and Mac Kandji to grab third goal and ice this game down but failed to capitalize.
An 82nd minute goal from Alex cut the deficit to one and made it a nervous final few minutes.

HALL HUGE
Tally Hall once again came up with the huge and timely saves in this one and continues to pad an outstanding season!! The one memorable save will be on Patrick Nyarko in the second half where at full stretch Hall picked the ball out of the corner.

SARKODIE AND ASHE
Credit to the two outside backs.
Ashe was excellent on this night and Sarkodie came up with two very important invterventions defensively including one where he came into the middle to provide cover and block a shot as an outside back.

FIRST EVER PLAYOFF
Sunday will be the first ever playoff game for the Dynamo at BBVA against their real rivals SPORTING KC. The 2:30 kickoff will have the Dynamo going up against the TEXANS and it will be interesting to see a great turn out at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Tickets are available at houstondynamo.com!!!

KINNEAR CREDIT
It has to be duly noted that this coach is as good as it gets in MLS when getting his teams prepared and ready for the playoffs. The Dynamo were once again alive and sharp come playoff time and that lead to setting the tone with the game changing first goal of the game.

Credit should be given to the players and coaches for another great year. Yes there were mistakes and they can be corrected. Will be a great series vs KC.
    Lets keep it going
    Go Dynamo

It has been a year like many in MLS for many teams.
Ups and downs, focus on the big prize which is the playoffs and alot of work.
Final judgement in MLS comes in the form of making the playoffs and playoff performance.
This club has made the playoffs 6 out of 7 yrs which is impressive to say the least.

I have always been asking the question on why is Hainault benched and sarkodie starting. Well, last night Sarkodie put a lot of those questionings to rest. He gave it all during the 90 min. He had a few important defensive plays. While I think that Hainault is a better overall defender, Kofi showed that he can play with the big boys in big games.
I don’t know if this is enough to get past KC and then DC/NY as I have been paying attention to them this year. Hopefully everyone stays healthy and no dumb ejections please!

Likely for the athletic side of the game that Sarkodie brings.
He is not the finished product by any means but last night was a big step up and his pure athletic ability made him a great match up for pace of Nyarko.
Can he get more sophisticated on the ball in the future ? That is the question.
Tremendous young man and good potential!

UGLY WIN! I think S. KC. would have rather play C F instead of us.

WAY TO GO, Dynamo!!! Still I must agree with jc_austin. I do not understand why Hainnault lost his starting position. I agree that Sarkodie seems capable but, really, this is a time when experience counts! Sarkodie was pretty shaky for quite some time. I think he has it in him to become quite a defensive player. As baffled and worried as I have been about it, I must trust that the coach sees more in him than I do. I know that Coach Kinnear is good and that he knows his players. With that said, I hope he is right….I expect he is. I miss Hainault though. Kandji scares me with his losing the ball so much. I hope that Clark is OK. We really need him in there. B. Toledo, the ref, was like a different ref last night! Amazing amount of “play on” calls, but he was consistent with his strange yellow cards on the Dynamo and lack of cards at other times. I cringed when I saw his name as ref.
See you all Sunday! GO ORANGE!
