Aston Villa breaking the mold in EPL

aston-villa.jpg

How great is it to see that ASTON VILLA has broken into the big four for the time being in the EPL.
MARTIN O’NEILL is doing a masterful managing job and the recent come-back after being down 2-0 to ARSENAL shows that this may just not be a flash in the pan effort. Goals from GARETH BARRY and ZAT KNIGHT proved that this team has back-bone.

Meanwhile, MANCHESTER CITY who has thrown truck-loads of money at their squad sits in the relegation zone under manager MARK HUGHES whose head is being called for by fans. MARK HUGHES is not content with the squad and says he has assurances for more funds to try and improve the squad during the January transfer window.

Do you think ASTON VILLA can stay in the top four of the Premier League for the duration. Do they have the depth?

some more news enhancing the possibility of Landin coming to houston is that he fell another man back in the depth chart of strikers…Morelia just purchased Migel Sabah from cruz azul. umm…what do you make of that glenn?

Tells me Ramiro that the coach does not have confidence in the player.
I truly believe the “stretch” that Landin would have to make coming to MLS will be excellent for his career.

Aston Villa has been knocking on the door of the top four for a little while now. They have great talent and a pretty deep bench to support. It would be great to see them stay up there and show everyone that you don’t need the millions like Man. U., Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. It would be nice to see someone else competing in the Champions League next year. On a similar note is Manchester City with all its money. They have some awesome talent on the team and when they play good, they are great. At the same time, when they don’t click they are horrible. Something is happening in the back with Dunne and Richards. They are not playing like the solid centerbacks they have been in the past. I don’t think more money can solve their problems.

AV is doing well and it is exciting that they’ve broken in the top four. What I am truly suprised by though is Man City’s underperforming. After spending so much money one would expect some results.

On another note, how about Clint Dempsey’s performance against Chelsea?!? Beautiful second goal off a header to tie the game. Making Texas proud. 3 goals in 2 games, perhaps he’s found his scoring boots again (which happen to be yellow apparently). I have been impressed with Fulham of late rising in the charts.

What do you think of Fulham’s play, Glenn?

  7. Ramiro says:

dynamo officially stiffed…Landin signed with cruz azul… :( now what?

Villa can crack the big four. Why? Martin O’Neill. He’s a tactical master and he’s shown that you can still build a top squad w/o a mountain of cash.

Adding a solid presence like Friedel stabilized a very pedestrian defense after the departure of Olaf Melberg. Martin Laursen is a absolute monster at both ends. Petrov is one of the most underrated players in the EPL imho. Adding Sidwell and Milner strengthened an already impressive midfield with Barry as anchor and skipper. With England intl’s Young and Agbonlahor, the goals are now plentiful and had an in form John Carew not gone down, they could easily be ahead of ManU AND Chelsea right now.

Mark Hughes on the other hand seems to be getting it right one week and wrong the next. He’ll be looking for a new job pretty soon at the rate he’s going.
