Another day passes with Cameron situation un-resolved

One can only now start to begin to believe that the Geoff Cameron to Stoke City in England deal may just be dying a slow death.
Another business day in England has passed and still no resolution to the situation which hand-cuffs all parties involved.
Personally, I am surprised that Stoke City has remained in this potential deal this long and has not told MLS that their offer is off the table.
If in fact it is true that the offer is for $2.5 million or in that neighborhood and it has been deemed a fair offer , then why the delay?
One can only think that MLS is trying to convince Cameron to stay on in the league but I would have to think this is fruitless. This is a player that wants to pursue his dreams over-seas and has clearly stated so.
Reports of a work permit providing the hold up is far from the truth.
Cameron has Scottish ancestry which does not automatically qualify him but many a player has passed the litmus test of playing in Europe despite being short of international caps.
Dreams, possibility, nobody wants them crushed.
Cameron has mentioned numerous times on Sports Talk 790 with me that playing in Europe was a dream of his.
A dream that seems to be fading sadly for all parties involved. Unless?

Glenn- would be surprised if MLS is making a passionate plea for Cameron to stay.If $2 million + deal is correct, MLS should jump on it. Cameron a serviceable pro, but certainly not a marquee player that MLS would build a marketing and promotional campaign around.
You obviously are in the know a lot more than myself, but we have seen some of these work permit/ visa situations become bizarre. IE- Dempsey kept dangling when initial oversea bid came in, Luke Roger’s become persona non Grata for return to NYRB, Mehdi Ballouchy still can’t travel to Canada for games, despite being in MLS for years.
What do you think of Richards(NYRB) for Le Toux(Vancouver) trade??Sorry to see Le Toux getting the shuffle around, should never have been forced out in Philly, vindictive move by Nowak

I personally am tired of our better players leaving (DeRosario, Holden, Clark, Wondolowski, Kamara, Cruz) and now Cameron. How are we supposed to get another Championship if they all keep leaving?

  3. Tinman says:

The deal has gone south the MLS is preventing its players from better themselves, its time for the players to stand up and strike.

I really do not understand how in the world MLS is not approving this transaction. I thought my neighbor’s dog was dumb by chasing its own tail until dizzy, but now i see dumbness in all of its might.

I will be the second fan with a stoke’s city jersey with cameron’s name on the back

Also I will expect the dynamo to acquire more influential players and stop that trend mentioned above about Kamara, wondo, dero, holdens, clark and others leaving and we getting koke, akinbiyi, caraccio and landin.
