Almeria manger Hugo Sanchez is out……How Frank Lampard scored three penalty kicks but only one counted

According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Almeria manager Hugo Sanchez is out. The former manager of Mexico took the job after getting the boot from the Mexican National team.
The squad is 17th place in the Spanish League.
What are your thoughts on Sanchez and will he return to a club in Mexico? I say yes.

LAMPARD HITS THREE PENS

I am not even going to mention the referee’s name in the Chelsea/West Ham game due to the ridiculous nature of how he handled the Frank Lampard taking of a penalty kick.
Chelsea was awarded a dubious penalty kick and Frank Lampard stepped to the spot and converted , yet it was called back due to encroachment which clearly was led by West Ham players. He should have let it stand as it was West Ham players who clearly were looking to take advantage.
Lampard stepped up again and cooly converted and again due to encroachment the referee had Lampard take it again. Again West Ham players looked to be the ones clearly gaining advantage, so why not let it stand.
Finally Lampard converts and the referee allows it with once again what looked like encroachment.
True travesty and I guess this was more about a referee wanting the limelight. Lampard was cool, collected and never got upset at the referee and promptly made three straight penalty kicks. The game ended a 1-1 draw.

Sanchez may end up in Chicago.

It would attract fans if someone were to take the risk.
Lots of ego with Hugo and that may not mix unless he is willing to learn the “MLS way” or listens to someone next to him.

Glenn, on a more MLS relevant note, I read this article saying that Stuart Holden has been offered a 4-year contract to play with Blackburn Rovers of the English Premiere League. What do you think? I can see this, not sure how much playing time he would get or if he would start but assuming they are one of the teams struggling in the table I think he has a shot?

I read on Soccer by Ives that MLS just signed 3 young defenders from Colombia of 22, 19 and 22, after signing Christian Castillo of El Salvador, you might remember him from Scoring 2 goals vs the US off great arial strikes, yeah the little Salvadorian midget that outjumped Hejduk despite Frankie having like half a foot on the guy, he’s on loan from Mexico’s 2nd division Leon. I think he’ll draw some fans in DC and help them attack with Luciano Emilio

Also heard Maurice Edu played in a reserve game today! That’s great news for the nats, it would be great if Rangers would let him and Beasley go play vs Honduras that would be great, but I’ll settle if Clark is on the DM position and Torres on the left wing!

as far as I can tell, one writer, Lalas of SI, wrote that Sanchez should be considered by some MLS teams. A soccer portion of the mexican mega-newspaper El Universal then reported Lalas’s pure brainstorming as fact, complete with headline saying MLS teams are looking at Sanchez. Typical journalism.
