AC Milan(o) Cookies …Beckham Appears He Can’t Put Down The Bag

In a recent article put out Wednesday by the Associated Press David Beckham was interviewed by Italian reporter Corriere della Sera and was quoted to say, “Playing here(AC Milan) is the dream of every footballer”. “But deciding isn’t easy. It’s a question that takes time.”

Beckham’s loan from the Los Angeles Galaxy expires March 8, after which he is due to return to Major League Soccer.

“I’m under contract and I have a lot of respect for the Galaxy. But the chance to play for Milan is something special,” Beckham said in the interview, which was published in Italian. “I knew I would enjoy it, but I didn’t expect to enjoy it this much. But in terms of character, I’m a very respectful person.” Beckham would go on to say “The Americans are doing everything they can to improve the level and reputation of their game. It’s a young league and I think it needs another 10 years to become successful,” said Beckham, whose contract with the Galaxy lasts through 2012.

“I have to admit that, having played in Europe, sometimes it was frustrating playing in certain games. But every now and then, moving from one state to another, I also enjoyed myself.”

MLS fans, do you want Beckham back in the MLS to finish his contract, or are you over “Beckham Mania”?

As a huge LA Galaxy fan, and someone who want the MLS and US soccer to grow.. I want David back!! If he is here, that means a sell out at 1 out of the 15 games for 12 teams, and 2 out of the 15 games for San Jose and Chivas USA! He WILL sellout Robetson stadium, and if they can figure out that he will play for sure, than I can even imagine them playing in Reliant, I know football season will be in the middle of things, but still, he can probably pack 45-60K fans in there, specially if the Galaxy are successful and are looking to get a better seed, or who knows maybe even catch up to the Dynamo who I expect to be the #1 seed throught the whole season!
Glenn, I have heard some rumors that the Dynamo will play the Galaxy on Feb 12? How sure of a thing is this? Would it be a preseason game or a scrimmage, I wonder if we can go to the scrimmage? How about the game against Hammerby? I would love to see Charlie Davies in action with his team, would that be at The Home Depot Center?

Beckham can and should stay in Milan. MLS and the Galaxy have wrung all they are gonna get from him in a promotional sense. With Landycakes about to move to Germany made permanent, who else of world-class would complement Becks? He only plays well when surrounded by like talent. Besides, would he really sell out Robertson now that the honeymoon is over? We have been spurned 2 years in a row and the casual fan hasn’t thought of him or his Galaxy in awhile now.

I never really got beckham mania although I did get a lil excited wen he came to MLS but not enough to call it mania. I think he should finish his contract with LA. Not as a fan or because he still hasn’t played in houston but because of all the rules that were bent and created just so that he could play here. And then not finish what he stirred up? No sir. I think he should finish out his contract with LA.

What a crock of Brand Beckham BS! How much “TIME” do you need to decide that you prefer Kaka and Ronaldinho to Chris Klein and Edson Buddle? I’m sorry but I don’t buy this Namby-Pamby struggling decision rubbish for one second. This was premeditated escape from LA from the drop. Just say you want to leave you wanker and GO!

And how karmically yin-yang is all this? Isn’t it ironic that Donovan took so much criticism for not having the balls to stick it out at Leverkusen. MLS paves the way for him to come back to LA and now it appears that Beckham doesn’t have the balls to stick it out in LA? Respect to Donovan for growing a set and returning to Germany but I doubt Beckham’s will drop once he puts his word, his money, and his tail between his legs and heads to Milan. He’s also about to go back on his honor and word to a club that employs who, the very honorable Kaka, a man that stood on his word and honor just days ago when he publicly rejected a world-record offer from Man City.

Beckham is a liar and a cheat and needs to be called out. I feel sorry for all the American kids that bought little Beckham shirts and looked up to him. I don’t blame him for wanting England and I don’t blame him for wanting the quality of Milan but David Beckham already cheated on his wife so should we be surprised that he’s effectively cheating on MLS and the American football fans that trusted him?

At least he went back to his wife but David Beckham’s MLS honeymoon is over.

I don’t care if he comes back or not. He never cared about the MLS like he said he did at first. He said he wanted to help make it better for kids like me only he was just about being a star and hanging out with his famous friends. My friend that works for the Galaxy said he is real nice but that he was always having actor friends in the lockerroom and visiting even at haltime. And that he had his own special set up and that is wrong. I got to see him three times and I will say I really liked when Adrian Serioux had the run in with him. That was right in front of my seat and it was funny. And I didn’t go to see him either I went because my friend Chris is on the team. I would rather have Giggs here. He would make a big impact and he would give 100% to the MLS too!

Wren, you are clearly in dislike of Beckham, but as someone who keeps up with the world of soccer specially my favorite Spanish and Italian teams AC Milan & FC Barcelona, Kaka played the whole love for the jersey, I love Milan, I don’t want to leave the fans who adore me, I want to listen to the fans chanting don’t leave us, only to spread rummors a day later that he want to go to Real Madrid, and that if they made a similar but not quite as large offer, he would go! yeah lots of class from a guy who ever since his fellow country man Ronaldinho arrived has been starved for attention and doesn’t seem happy the limelight isn’t on him, I wonder why he likes Beckham so much, after all he gets all the attention while he is at Milan.
Evan, you can’t blame Beckham for Gullit or Arena letting him do that, he is a fame-derived pop star, noone ever denied that, how in the world do you think he sells out the stadiums and sells the millions of Jerseys that he sells? Are you talking about Chris Klein? What Adrian Serioux is pretty much about as low as it gets. Just to show you what class is, when Tyrone Marshall did something similar but worst, the Galaxy made away with him, inspite of being a fan favorite, and a long time veteran with the potential to hold a job in the front office! That is what the Galaxy stands for, they had a rough time winning, but they still remain as one of the 2 most successful franchises, and the one with the best fanbase!
