Make no mistake when the Dynamo take the field in El Salvador tonight it will be a time of opportunity on two fronts.

Individual players will get opportunity to perform in a very important Concacaf Champions League match with much at stake while as a team the Dynamo have an ever important opportunity to defeat a club from a foreign country and build on a rich history of international competition.

The end game here is winning the Concacaf Champions League and ending up at the World Club Championship and gaining the opportunity to compete against top clubs from around the world including Europe not to mention win large prize money.

Having played against teams from El Salvador like FAS and Alianza in the past one will always see players that are comfortable with the ball.

Tomorrow night the Dynamo will benefit from a FAS squad that has some injury problems yet will play this game with the knowledge that in their home country they will perform with the spotlight on them.

Keep an eye on their strikers Alejandro Bertos and Ricardo Ulloa.

El Salvador’s home professional league is wreaked with corruption, lack of resources and poor management and many players will see this as a platform to move to MLS potentially with the knowledge that this game is on television back to the U.S.

I have spent time in this country doing broadcasts and was always impressed with the people and how helpful and kind they were.

Dynamo manager Dominic Kinnear with his team battling for the Eastern Conference top three playoff spots has elected to rest and keep behind those that have logged alot of minutes both for the “orange” and internationally.
Jermaine Taylor, Andre Hainault, Boniek Garcia, Calen Carr, Cory Ashe all stay home to rest up for the Toronto FC match this Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Obviously expect change in the lineup with those missing and Dominic Kinnear making that very clear on Monday Dynamo All Access on Sports Talk 790. Tyler Deric will get the start in goal and one wonders if in fact Dominic Kinnear might move back to a 4-4-2 to accomodate two target type strikers in Brian Ching and Cam Weaver.

The back four will have three changes so could we see Sarkodie, Boswell, Creavalle, Sturgis in some form? This would be alot of changes for a back four and Ricardo Clark is also an option in the middle as a center back.

Expect veterans like Boswell, Ching, Davis, Clark, Moffat to in some shape or form be the spine of the team.

With lineup change, time of opportunity for players and the importance of the Concacaf Champions league this should make for an interesting watch tomorrow night on FSC. The Dynamo will need results grouped with Fas and Olimpia of Honduras and having to go on the road for their first two games in the competition.
