Jamaican Taylor stepping up for Dynamo/Iker Casillas in Houston

The timing could not be better for Dynamo defender Jermaine Taylor to be stepping up Taylor this week was named to the MLS “team of the week”.

At this time tomorrow we might know the fate of Geoff Cameron and his move to Stoke City in the English Premier League (see my previous post on my thoughts about this).

If the move happens the Dynamo seem to be in a good hands with Jermaine Taylor in his best phase as a Dynamo player. He clearly seems to be more influential as the Dynamo have been solidified in midfield.

Taylor is deceptively quick and has played in a variety of defensive positions.
His handling of CJ Sapong, recoverability in the tackle and his aerial presence stood out against Sporting KC.

Truth be told this is the Jermaine Taylor that Dynamo fans have been waiting for.
Dynamo manager Dominic Kinnear has said to me on many occasions that Taylor silently goes about his job no matter where he wants him to play.
Yes, that is called be versatile and coachable.

I have also seen a bit more “edge” from Taylor in games as though he knows he is now needed more than ever. It has been healthy and exciting to see.

It is critical that Taylor steps up for the Dynamo now especially if Cameron moves on to England.

Keep in mind Andre Hainault also can and has played center back for the Dynamo and currently plays that position for the Canadien National team but the Bobby Boswell, Jermaine Taylor combination looks solid right now going into the DC United game this Sunday.

The Dynamo will also benefit Sunday from the return of Calen Carr and JeVaughan Watson. Getting healthy at the right time is essential now as the Dynamo have three in a row at home in 8 days and have a real opportunity to make a move in the Eastern Conference.

Spanish national team and Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas , know as one of the best goalkeepers in world will be conducting a clinic at BBVA Compass Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
