Germany and Italy play today for a spot in the European Championship Final (1:45 cdt Espn) to take on holders Spain in Kiev on Sunday.
This German generation of players is looking to win a major tournament and of course anything less in German will be considered failure.
Italy will look to erase the debacle that was the World Cup in South Africa.
Looking forward to seeing how this plays out in midfield with Italy’s Andrea Pirlo and Daniele DeRossi going up against Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Who can’t be mesmerized by the skills of Mezut Ozil and I believe with additional rest and a deeper squad today the Germans will book their place in the final over the Italians who have always held the upper hand.
Oh and a great reminder, two of the best in goal today with Gianluigi Buffon of Italy and Manuel Neuer of Germany.
Can’t wait for this one!
OBG
The Dynamo DP Honduran Oscar Boniek Garcia is here and I am heading down to practice to take in his first session.
He is likely to debut this Saturday against the Philadelphia Union.
GEOFF CAMERON
With time moving is today the day the Dynamo and Geoff Cameron part ways.
Cameron has an offer on the table from Stoke and one wonders if and when this will get done.
The transfer of Cameron to Stoke is a win, win for all in my humble opinion.
All involved stand to benefit and the Dynamo and MLS will get great kudos for identifying, developing and providing opportunity for this player that only a few seasons ago was on 34k per year.
This is a life changing and career path changing situation for Cameron and the Dynamo will gain a large piece of the transfer fee which can be re-invested in the club. Rumored transfer fee between 2 and 2.5 million.
