The President of Olimpia of Honduras has been quoted in Spanish language newspapers on attacking wide midfielder Oscar Boniek Garcia and a deal being done wtih the Dynamo.
The winger has been consistently linked with the club and Dynamo manager Dominic Kinnear has coveted the skill-master and his pace. Kinnear identified him in a past friendly match between Honduras and El Salvador at Robertson Stadium.
Boniek Garcia will bring much needed width to the Dynamo attack which could prove to be beneficial for Dynamo strikers. His pace and ability to break people down off the dribble and with his movement would be a great compliment to Brad Davis.
The Dynamo had been close in the past in getting this deal done but never were able to consumate it but this time it seems to be more encouraging.
Tomorrow will be a big day likely in the Oscar Boniek Garcia sweepstakes and it is hard not for one to get excited about the prospects and potential for this player both on and off the field. Boniek Garcia would bring more Spanish language press and attention and would help the Dynamo tap into the strong Honduran soccer population in Houston.
Ironically the Dynamo were grouped in Champions League play with Boniek Garcia’s club Olimpia who are perennial Champions in Honduras.
