Spread the word.
Soccer Matters with Glenn Davis tonite at 5pm on Fox Sports Houston. Currently Fox Sports Houston is in the Comcast and ATT Uverse cable systems.
I am working on getting this show on Fox Southwest so that it will get picked up by Dish and Direct but need your help to spread the word and watch or tape the show!
The show has a focus on our local soccer community, the Dynamo and MLS plus the English Premier League, Mexican League, Champions League and more.
Top ten goals segment every week with breakdown and analysis and we hear from you the fan in viewer mail. Plus some juicy tidbits like Claudio Reyna to coach the Red Bulls..this topic has been brought up!
Lets make an impact!
CHELSEA CHEATS?
Chelsea have been hit for a transfer ban by FIFA until 2011 which is essentially the next two transfer windows as they were found guilty of inducing French teen-ager Gael Kakuta to breach his contract with Lens.
The 18 year old joined the club in 2007 from Lens of the French Ligue 1.
Chelsea have been in trouble before over their transfer dealings and in June 2005 were involved with Arsenal defender Ashley Cole with the Blues being fined, Cole being fined and Jose Mourinho being fined.
So what do you make of Chelsea being singled out here as we all know that they are not the only ones guilty of “tapping” up players?
LAMAR HUNT US OPEN CUP CHAMPS…….Seattle Sounders FC
Seattle won an entertaining Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at RFK Stadium 2-1 with an unlikely game winning goal scorer Roger Levequese. Levequese got the game winner after some great work by Sebastian LeToux out wide winning a ball and fighting off the challenge of Dejan Jakovic….He then found an unmarked Levequese at the back post. The match was entertaining !
PROPS: To DC United fans and the atmosphere at RFK
NO PROPS: To DC United apparently not staying around to see Seattle accept their medals and the Cup.
BIZARRE and just plain stupid: DC goalkeeper Josh Wicks who was playing spectacularly at the time goes and stamps on Fredy Montero after Montero scored and was prone on the
ground. Wicks is a ticking time bomb like he proved the weekend before almost coming to blows with defender Marc Burch. There is a difference
between intensity, positive emotion and stupidity. A costly, selfish move from Wicks and DC have quite the problem on their hands in goal now.
It was also bizarre to see Wicks confront referees and a linesman after doing something so obvious. MLS needs swift action here while Wicks let
his team down.
FREDDY LJUNBERG: The smile on Ljunberg’s face looked as though he had just won the EPL title! A great signing for MLS !!!
