Post game radio call in on 790 The Sports Animal after Dynamo and DC United tonite…

Join me for the post game radio call in show on 790 The Sports Animal after the Dynamo / DC game tonite…call in number is 713-212-5790 .
Of course you can hear the game on 790 and also view it on FSC but my recommendation is to get out to Robertson Stadium for a very important match-up….

Dynamo preview vs. DC United…

Both teams tonite welcome home players from the Gold Cup and the U.S. National team.
The Dynamo return two pillars in Stuart Holden in midfield and Brian Ching up front that should make a world of difference in controlling the game.
DC will get back Santino Quaranta who could be used either up front or wide most likely in midfield.

Where they sit: The Dynamo are still atop the Western Conference at 9-5-5 with Seattle three points behind and playing at San Jose Sunday.
DC United is third in a tight Eastern Conference with 28pts one point behind Chicago and two behind Columbus.
The Crew are at Colorado while Chicago entertains RSL at home. The Fire have only won two games at home.

System: Does DC United play in their traditional 3-5-2 ? Do the Dynamo match it and play with a five man midfield?
DC has challenges in midfield where they are missing Clyde Simms due to injury, Rodney Wallace who is suspended, Boyzz Khumalo also is injured.
Ben Olsen should start in the middle and it will be interesting to see who he is paired with.
Strength returns up the middle of the Dynamo squad with Holden and Ching who in my opinion should both be going to the World Cup qualifier against Mexico along with
Ricardo Clark.

Injury Crisis: The Dynamo have one, Cam Weaver is out with a groin problem for awhile, Richard Mulrooney is done for the year with his knee, Kei Kamara is hurting, Eddie Robinson and Brian Mullan has a few weeks to go so times are challenging heading into three games in 8 days and lots of Champion League action coming up in the near future.

KEY: Stuart Holden coming back can hope to influence the terms the game is played under through his possession and control as can Ching with his ability to hold it up front.
These two elements are critical in the Dynamo have control over the game. Do we expect Geoff Cameron to play in midfield again with James and Boswell as center backs.
Does DC attack on the road like they always do at Robertson. Where do attacking talents like Jaime Moreno, Christian Gomez, Luciano Emilio and Fred fit in?
Does Moreno get saved on the bench till the later stages when players are fatiguing?

What are your thoughts on Dynamo vs. DC tonite?
