RICARDO CLARK called in to U.S. National team…
Dynamo midfielder Ricardo Clark has been called in to the U.S. National and heads out to Costa Rica this morning for the World Cup qualifer that takes place Wednesday night.
Clark replaces midfielder Maurice Edu who remains in Glasgow, Scotland where his injured knee is being evaluated. Edu injured the knee on May 24 in a game against Dundee.
Edu had been starting in midfield for Rangers who won the Scottish Premier League title and Cup.
The Dynamo will now have to fill the void left by Clark who has been a constant in midfield.
TRICKY week for U.S. and Mexican national teams…..
The United States has a tricky two games this week. First Wednesday night at Saprissa Stadium in San Jose Costa Rica the U.S. takes on the “Ticos”. Bob Bradley’s squad will then have to turn it around quickly against a rested Honduras on Saturday at Soldier Field in Chicago. Over 40,000 tickets have been sold for that match.
It will be interesting to see how Bradley approaches the two games and the approach that the U.S. takes in Costa Rica. It could mirror how the U.S. played in Guatemala where they got a historic win .
Give me your thoughts on the U.S. National team.
MEXICO prepares for what will be a difficult match in El Salvador at Cuscatlan Stadium . Expect a fervant Salvador crowd that will approach 50,000 and not make this a walk in the park for Mexico. Javier Aguirre begins his second stint as manager of “EL TRI” and already has made it clear that after taking Mexico to the World Cup in 2010 he would like to coach in the English Premier League. Is this wise for Aguirre to be commenting on his future plans while having yet to complete his first game in charge?
Will Cuauhtemoc Blanco play an important part for Mexico anymore or is this the team of Andres Guardado and Nery Castillo in the future?
