The Houston Dynamo are looking at making history tonite in Cancun if they can pull off a win against Atlante but the real mission will be to advance in the Concacaf Champions League to the quarterfinals. With a 1-1 aggregate score after the first leg at Robertson Stadium the Dynamo have only advancing on their mind. Still it would be nice to finally get that first win on Mexico soil. It has been a long time coming.
Dynamo manager Dominic Kinnear mentioned that defender Bobby Boswell could miss tomorrow’s game against Atlante in Cancun, Mexico during Dynamo All Access with Glenn Davis last night. Boswell apparently is suffering flu like symptons and this could complicate things at the back for the Dynamo as Eddie Robinson has had a slight knee problem.
Julius James looks certain to play at the back and cover can come from both Geoff Cameron and or Craig Waibel.
Atlante is currently last in their group in Mexican league play and are struggling to score goals yet are not conceding many.
The Dynamo performance will have to go up a notch from last Tuesday’s match at Robertson Stadium.

The podcast also features comments from U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati in an interesting interview where he talks about future plans from the Federation and surprising comments about the loss of the MLS reserve division.
Leslie Osborne of FC Gold Pride and the U.S. Womens national team also weighs in.
The Dynamo made a real effort to secure the services of Mexican international Omar Bravo. Bravo ultimately chose Tigres in Mexico but the player and his agent were interested in the Dynamo who went after him full force.
Was Bravo and his agent posturing? Was it a negotiation ploy or was he serious about MLS and the Dynamo?
Would you have liked to have seen Omar Bravo in Dynamo orange? What other Mexican striker would fit best with the Dynamo that seems approachable? Adolfo Bautista?
And by the way, CEO Chris Canetti informed me that the Dynamo also made another attempt at Luis Landin of Cruz Azul but the Cementeros were not interested.
It is good to see the Dynamo going after quality Mexican league players.
MIAMI PULL OUT OF MLS INTEREST FOR THE TIME BEING
FC BARCELONA and Brightstar Communications President and owner Marcelo Claure have pulled out of expansion interest for the time being in MLS according to a release put out by MLS this afternoon. Claure did not close the door on future participation and remains a believer in MLS according to the press release. He will continue to partner on events in the future with FC Barcelona. Personally I think it is a time that MLS must be prudent about expansion. What do you think?
