*Lets hope there is a great pre-Thanksgiving turn-out on Wednesday night when the DYNAMO take on FIRPO of EL Salvador at Robertson Stadium at 7pm.
This would be a great night to make a statement not only for the squad in a game they must win to move on to the Concacaf Champions League final eight but also for the stadium.
I myself am looking forward to this game to see how the DYNAMO finish out their season. It will be interesting to see how sharp the Dynamo are and how they respond to the dissapointment of being knocked out of the MLS playoffs. This is a game of GREAT importance.
STUART HOLDEN and JEFF CAMERON are suspended for this match.
By the way I will be doing post game radio after the match and am looking forward to hearing from fans on the game and the season. Catch the radio show on 790 AM with the call in number 713-212-5790. Thanks also to the many fans that have written in with kind comments for the tv show on Houston’s 55.

* Earlier in the day on Wednesday the DYNAMO will lose a player in the expansion draft to the SEATTLE SOUNDERS….you can bet good money it will be NATE JACQUA back to SEATTLE as he had expressed that desire before signing with the DYNAMO .
Here are some of the more noteworthy names that have been left unprotected by the Dynamo: CORY ASHE, CRAIG WAIBEL, WADE BARRETT, PATRICK IANNI, NATE JACQUA, RICHARD MULROONEY and PAT ONSTAD among others. Now before you get too worried, remember, SEATTLE can only take one player.

*APERTURA QUARTERFINALS in Mexico look like this: Santos 3 San Luis 1
Tecos 0 Toluca 0
Cruz Azul 0 UNAM 0
Tigres 1 Atlante 1
Have your say on the MFL playoffs if you dare…….The second leg takes place this weekend.

*Congratulations to SAN JACINTO COLLEGE and their run to the Jr. College National Championship game this past weekend. The Coyotes were bested by Yavapi of Arizona in Phoenix 1-0. I will get coach DAVE SANTESTEBAN on the radio show in the near future but again this is another jewel in the soccer landscape of our area of the country.
Still mind blowing that the AD’s at NCAA institutions in Texas have shunned soccer.

*CESC FABREGAS has replaced WILLIAM GALLAS as captain at ARSENAL……..

  1. I’m surprised to see Ashe unprotected. The others are pretty uch what I expected. Is Ianni’s genn addidas status up? If not, is it true that he can’t be selected??

  2. glenn, i thought jaqua gong back to seattle was part of his contract to play half season with houston? …meaning we wouldve lost 2 players to seattle. i asked that a few weeks (or months, dont remember) and im pretty sure i remember you said that it was part of the deal so we WOULD loose 2 players…

  3. oh and PUMAS! woo-hoo! if pumas get eliminated, by any chance, santos better not win the championship because that loan stunt with blanco is unfair…cheating. nobody should be able to borrow a player right before going into the playoffs because one of your starters got injured…or for any other reason. boo hoo, go cry to mommy…play with what you have.

  4. Some pretty hefty names left exposed like Razov, Ruiz, and Gaven along w/keepers Hartman, Burpo and former Dynamo Zach Wells. Like San Jose, Seattle has a solid talent pool to choose from to get off the ground. As their manager for a day, one can easily see a good mix of youth and experience w/sound goalkeeping.

I hope the Dynamo identify some opportunities to strengthen their side and fill some holes. One thing we should have learned from last season and the season before is that we need to add quality to our attack and more youth and/or speed to the back line. Not sure how we can get them here but there are names on the master expansion list that can fill some critical needs for the Dynamo.

  5. Glenn, since the higher seed advances on a tie aggregate in MFL, and UNAM and Cruz Azul tied with 26 pts., and C.A. beat them head to head this season, would C.A. advance if they tie again this weekend?

  6. On a separate note, looks like we (Houston) are finally getting a Superclasico…

January 3rd (darn it I am supposed to be out of town)

  8. Glenn, BF answered Bart-1’s question that PUMAS was the higher seed so it would advance in the event of another tie. Is that true? Why?

  9. They are the higher seed because their Goal diffrence was better.
