Clark vs. Blanco could be decider factor in Dynamo vs. Fire tonite

When the Dynamo take on the Chicago Fire tonite at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois not only will they be taking on one of the league’s best teams but they will also take on the league’s most influential player, Mexican International Cuauhtemoc Blanco.

Lets face it, every coach in MLS stands in front of his team talking about Blanco and how they can restrict his play.
Yet game after game despite the decline in his physical abilities Blanco with his brain (on field brain that is) and great skill influences game after game in MLS.

Tonite keep an eye on Ricardo Clark and lets see if he can take the edge off of Blanco. Now it is nice to highlight individual match-ups yet it will take a collective effort to track and deal with Blanco who has a great habit of making you think he drifts out of the game only to pick up a ball and make plays.

Thoughts on the Dynamo vs. Fire? A win in Chicago goes down as one of the great road wins of the year in MLS for Houston if they can pull it off.

Catch this game on Channel 55….should be a good one.

  1. I don’t see the play that I saw last year. The team looks out of sync somehow. Ching and DeRo have scored one goal apiece this year. Ching and Caraccio have not clicked together although it is still early in Franco’s development. I am not thrilled about the long ball passing. It sort of reminds me of hockey, get the puck into the other half. Keep it in play. Maybe something will happen. Problem here is most if not all of those passes do not amount to anything. I think the absence of Brad Davis and his crosses is a great part of their offense and he is sorely missed. I read that Holden is playing out of position, perhaps that is the reason for his slow start this year. Hopefully Davis and Robinson will be 100% and play tognight.
That being said, if they manage a tie and come away with one point, I will be thrilled.
    Go Orange!

  2. Okay, Mr. Davis. Spoke to you last season when Blanco won goal of the year (should not have) and I told you then he was a flopper. Well, seems his ways have not changed. Yes, he does have talent, but he is also a baby. Heard Coach say give him the whistle, he\’s calling the game. C\’mon, he\’s proving to be an even bigger baby this year. Talent, well let\’s see it. I would not, as a parent, allow my children to act as he does. Even with two daughters that play, I would allow them to go out as he does. He may bring fans to Chicago games, but c\’mon.
