I never even thought about the possibility of track and field. In that event, I would certainly consider a commute to Sugar Land a welcomed inconvieniance. I think the line issue can be worked around, the track.....I can not see it.

True Simon...about the running track...that would be awful...the intimacy of Robertson should be taken in consideration...That intimacy is what has drawn so many people 15k on average...to our games...The running track should not even be an option.

Chron.com is reporting a meeting with Bill White today...let's see if we hear any news tomorrow...

I have nothing against TSU and they do need athletic facilities, but everyone I have spoken with would hate to see the football lines on the Dynamo pitch. And if there are football lines there will be endzone graphics. Also, the TSU athletics director said the stadium would be their home for all their athletics programs. So this most likely will mean a running track around the field too. Has anyone else heard otherwise? Considering AEG have invested heavily into Golden Boy they should not let this happen. And if I hear the mayor talk about taking money away from the police/firefighters - I wish Oscar would raise his gloves. The mayor is pandering to opponents; meanwhile, the police are collecting grocery store shopping carts and the firefighters are posing for calenders.

Hey, how about a stadium like Allianz in Germany (albeit smaller) - home to two teams in Bundesliga - the outside of the stadium CHANGES COLOR depending on who is playing (red/blue)? With extra TSU $$, lets stick a tray system for two fields (football/futbol), maybe a third tray for a Goldenboy boxing setup, and add a retractable (hidden) stage. A swiss army knife stadium! lol

If the Houston Dynamo want to be taken seriously...then the field should have no football lines...I understand the merge/partnership could be beneficial for both institutions but if the drawback is playing w those horrible lines then they should find a way around it...maybe a crew that takes care of changing/fixing the field right after every TSU or Dynamo game...I don't know...all I know is that the football lines make futbol less attractive.

Last year's goal of the year (Blanco's leftie blast) would have been even more beautiful had there not been any football lines on the field.

I don\'t know why the Orange should have to partner with anyone. The Orange should stand on their own! Did not the COH agree to help the Orange get a Stadium as part of the relocation process from San Jose? I understand from a political viewpoint, having TSU as a partner will carry weight in any discussion with the City. Still, if it did happen, I would not like to see lines on the pitch for a Dynamo game. That could happen because of the length of the season. I am sure Oliver Luck and the Orange brain-trust have thought of this if a partnership with TSU ever happened.

The COH is definitely going to multi-purpose the stadium whether you like it or not. Why not accept it and get TSU's money & influence, but make the Dynamo the primary tenant.

If there are lines, so be it, but I do not want to see endzone graphics.

Hypothetical question: Could the Houston Dynamo at the end of last year have beaten Fulham yesterday? Assuming a two game series: one at Craven Cottage and another at Robertson.

A Red Bull Park type facility would be best, but since that doesn't seem in the offing, this will have to do. If TSU and AEG are going to partner on this, maybe they can create something a little nicer and maybe a little bigger, in the style of HDC.

Well, partnering with TSU would be positive because the stadium would be located within the city. If we could get it as close to downtown as possible, that would be fantastic.
