Manchester United and Chelsea with one game left in the Premier League are tied on points. Manchester United go to Wigan while Chelsea entertain Bolton.
So are you buying in to all the rumors about Wigan laying down for Manchester United this weekend in the EPL because a former United player Steve Bruce is the manager of Wigan?
Does the Manchester United mafia conspire on this one? Who knows but one thing I know is that if Wigan were to pull of a draw or a win and it costs United the Premier League title he WOULD go down in Manchester United history for being the manager that helped deny them the EPL title. Just a thought.
* Ok, before you get up in arms about the proposed partnering of the Dynamo and TSU remember that the ultimate gain is to get the stadium built.
This is a winner for TSU in the eyes of local perception and can help a damaged reputation, they have to be chomping at the bit to get involved.
If this gets the stadium built and over the top I will now become a TSU Football fan……..
*DC United is a team in transition.
Lets face it. Luciano Emilio is un-motivated, Gallardo is still learning the league, Ben Olsen is out injured and his career in jeopardy and it is interesting to see if this team can pull all the pieces together. Former Dynamo Zach Wells has been average in goal and role players like Brian Carroll have moved on.
Good news financially, a shirt deal with Volkswagen that is worth 3 million a year.
* Ok Dynamo fans, what can YOU offer Joseoph Ngwenya to come back to Houston. Some fans have offered room and board while others have emailed with other incentives for Joseph. Can you imagine the buzz and excitement his return could bring this franchise. One thing we know is that a technical threat and speed is needed next to Brian Ching.
*Would you like to see Diego Simeone go to Spain and be manager of Athletico Madrid? I like seeing him as manager of River Plate. Just brings more to the Boca/River rivalry.
*Of course you need to get out locally in Houston for the Dynamo and Rapids this Saturday at Robertson Stadium.
So will Fernando Clavijo the Colorado coach play with two forwards at Robertson Stadium like he did in a two goal win over DC United this past weekend?
Based on the history of opponents coming in expect the 4-5-1. Lets just hope they play a bit more than Chivas USA this past weekend.
* LA vs. New York on HDNET this weekend is a juicy encounter also with some star quality.
*My apologies to the fans that made it out to the STAGS HEAD PUB near Sheperd and 59, we had to divert the live broadcast of “Dynamo All Access with Glenn Davis” back to the studio after problems with phone lines and weather.
Many remained and listened to the show at the pub and apparently had a good time.
Thanks for the support.

“One thing we know is that a technical threat and speed is needed next to Brian Ching”
next to brian ching? i’d say next to caraccio, i mean we all appreciate what ching has done for the team in the past but right now we all need to open our eyes, ching needs some time in the bench to think about all those opportunities he has missed since the beginning of last season. i mean i understand kinnear may not wanna bench a player that expensive but hey! we’re talking about the only team(current champion) with no victory so far. let wondo, cameron and caraccio take care of the offense with a fast and technical forward next to them.

What are you talking about Glenn? We’re all still at the Stag’s Head waiting…
I wouldn’t mind alternating the benching of both ching and dero (not at the same time) so they can come in at the start of the 1st/2nd half, respectively.

1. After watching Ching for several years, I still like the way he plays. He plays hard all the time and is still a threat in the box. Teams still fear him. That being said, his play this year has me worried. He has missed a lot of opportunities that in past years he might have converted. Maybe he has slowed down more than we think. Caraccio by years end will be a player. Now he is still learning the MLS style especially the Dynamo way of playing and it shows.
2. Having Joseph back would be wonderful although i am very high on Holden. This guy is a star in the making and I think he needs to play more. I feel he needs to play forward, to take advantage of his rocket shots. He is very agile with the ball and is a good passer, especially crosses in the box. I like him very much and hope the Dynamo plan to keep him for a number of years.

Glenn,
The fix is in. Wigan will lay down and Manure will hoist a cup. It is a shame that teams do this. Unfortunately, I look back on the Chelsea season and look at opportunities lost. The ties at home to Wigan and Tottenham definitely hurt. Hopefully, Steve Bruce is a man of character and so are his players.
As for Joe coming back to Houston. I am willing to offer room and board, and a good winter job as an assistant coach on my staff. I am also willing to offer an unlimited supply of double stuffed oreos!
DC Who?
Up the Blues,
Coach H

I agree with jorgito on this one…I’ve been wanting to say this before, but felt a little bit like a traitor for saying that Ching should be benched…but we all know it…he needs it right now…The Caraccio/Wondo pair should be tried at least for a few games…also let Cameron do a little bit more of defensive/sacrifice work if he’s in for davis and let deRo play freely…
I like Ching..of course he’s given us so much…but change is good sometimes…he might find out that he’s more productive coming in from the bench…the spark might come back…I just think Wondo deserves a chance, and Caraccio has already shown us what he can do…if Wondo and Caraccio have good chemistry..(and I thnk they could)…then great..have Ching come in as a sub at the 65th or 70th…
On the ManU - Wigan deal…I heard coach H talking about it during the SoccerHour podcast..and honestly…one man shouldn’t be able to change the outcome of a game or a season for that matter…Im sure the players (Wigan) have pride and would love to beat ManU whether it counts or not.
Another thing, a shout out to my cuz Jesus Izaguirre…I now know he reads this blog but is too scared to post…come on man…I won’t make fun of you..
yes go tell Jaime and Ivan…go on..

not to be one of those picky fans, but it is not Athletico de Madrid, although Bilbaos team is Athletic Club Bilbao (the name had to be change during Franco´s regime, non-spanish names were not allowed, so they used Atletico de Bilbao), Madrid´s name is Atletico de Madrid, without the “h”.

Gotta like Diego Simeone for his stylish wardrobe alone and I hope he stays at River.
I hope the fix is in at Portsmouth and Al Fayed is offering one of his “gift baskets” to the always corrupt Redknapp to keep the Americans up at Fulham.
The TSU-Dynamo football stadium idea is weak. Football lines suck. Any word on the Philly stadium? Evidently they are considering FieldTurf, which is really bad.
Andrea Canales out in LA is advocating banning streamers at games, sighting the potential danger and slowing down of the game. You agree with this? (I dont).

Glenn, Im a big fan of yours, but all this we need someone next to Ching… How about we need someone next to Caraccio. So far, Caraccio has done a lot more than Ching. On top of that, Ching hasnt done anything since the first season in Houston. CHING NEEDS TO GO, OR NEEDS TO BE BENCHED!!!! OVERRATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andrea needs to “loosen” up a little bit I think Alex. Don’t agree at all a real stretch with this.
We finally get some passion and she wants to kill it over a few streamers…..please! We must let people have fun at MLS stadiums and always within reason.
Love to see coaches in MLS with style when it comes to their appearance, Simeone has a sense of style.
Atletico it is Jarrambide! And yes you are being a picky fan but I don’t mind one bit. Start calling out the guys on mainstream radio!!
Coach H, enough with the fix, professionals on display . Lets just see what players Steve Bruce uses. …….You love conspiracy theories I guess. So the Rapids are going to lay down for the Dynamo this weekend because the MLS front office says Houston needs a win to help their stadium cause. Coach H come on?
Jesus you need to put yourself out there and make a stand on something soccer related? Moises is calling you out.
Lots of people willing to donate housing and per diem for Joseoph Ngwenya, Houston fans are rallying.
Eric, my word is only one of many opinions on this website and is never the last one. We all see things different with this game.
Caraccio has two goals but Ching is a proven goal scorer at the MLS level and has produced internationally.
He is not positioned now as a goal scorer due to lack of good wide play and the types of crosses he feeds and lives off. He is struggling there is no doubt yet if you look at the last fifteen minutes of the game against Chivas USA he was denied by Guzan after getting in behind, set up Mullan with the touch behind the Chivas defense and then held off three Chivas players to find DeRosario who found Ashe who was then denied by Guzan.
Ching has become solely a hold up man and provider playing with his back to an opponents goal for the majority of matches and rarely gets a run at attacking crosses where someone has truly gotten behind an opponents defense. Watch the tape.
Caraccio is still learning the league and shows promise, twice his touch let him down in good goal scoring positions. Love the kid and want him to succeed.
Someone that is capable with pace can create more space for Ching and would have to be honored behind defenses.
Maybe giving Ching a rest would be a good idea for a game yet it won’t happen this weekend. He is always a concern injury wise and helped the squad win a title on one leg last year…..no one is near as proven as him up front on this squad and you want to bail on Brian?

Still not a fan of Ching.
***
I do remember the dyanmos first year and my first season tickets. i was sitting in section 101, and my lord was Mullan a hell of a player at the wide play. He sent cross after cross to ching and that was the year that he was the year ching was also called to the USMNT. but after that, ching just hasnt been the same. dont hate the guy, i just think mls has changed and out wide play isnt there for ching.
I didnt want to remember coreys point blank miss. he’ll get a goal soon.
