According to the MLS league office Nate Jacqua has now signed in Austria with Altach .
This one may come as a surprise as it is hard to fathom that Jacqua would be getting paid more.
The Dynamo now will be thin up front and their lone out and out striker is Brian Ching who has had injury problems.
The Dynamo will certainly be looking to add players in this area but lets remember finding strikers for MLS is not easy business from within the league or from outside it. Top strikers in Mexico, South America and Central America will come with a price tag and the Dynamo certainly are not going to take apart a team that has won two titles. Dwayne DeRosario and Brian Mullan can both play as a striker as we have seen in the past yet losing both Jacqua and Ngwenya now challenge the Dynamo to fill a void.

  1. Maybe you have your ear closer to the ground than I do since you typed this entry so nonchalant. If they were planning as though they lost these guys from the beginning, then they should have quit brainstorming before you went on the air last week.
An announcement should have been made on talks or targeted players.
Its just like when companies keep stockholders in the loop to maintain confidence. “In Dom We Trust” will last for so long. I want to give a vote of confidence, but I can’t even do that if they won’t run some type of campaign

  2. The Dynamo FO has been planning as if this was going to happen from the time Joe and Nate went to European trials (at least as far as they would like us to believe). That being said I\\\\\\\’m sure they have been working on potential strikers to fill these gaps. There is no reason to prematurely announce a possible deal before to details have been hammered out. Let us not forget that we\\\\\\\’re also shallow at keeper, so that\\\\\\\’s another spot we\\\\\\\’ll need to address. I am some what concerned that we would have to make a trade to get something going. All on all \\\\\\\’In Dom we trust\\\\\\\’ is good enough for me, at least for now. I have faith in his eye for talent and ability to get deals done.

  3. Michael,
Generally teams don’t tip their hand on whom they are pursuing.
Numerous times on my radio show Dynamo officials have stated that they were hopeful of bringing the two back yet were pursuing others in MLS and looking abroad.
Fact is the Dynamo may be patience according to Kinnear .

  4. Think players like Jacqua, Noonan, and Perkins will regret leaving America and MLS for leagues and places never to be heard from again.
Remember when Joe Cannon and Zack Thornton went to Europe to experience \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
