Filippo Inzaghi constantly gets criticized for being one dimensional but the man just continues to score goals. So many in fact he is the all-time leading goal scorer in UEFA competitions. So take that you Inzaghi detractors!

OK back to Inzaghi. I enjoy watching him tempt fate of the last line of defense of an opponent. The guy is passionate and can finish……..Must be a reason that he continues to produce goals at the highest level of the game . Inzaghi was a member of the Italian World Cup winning squad in Germany…..The Dynamo will open up their 2008 MLS season on the road at NE. Rest assured it would have been home on Thursday night on ESPN if it weren’t for UH and school being in session. Two years in a row the Dynamo have been denied on ESPN because of these restraints. Glasgow Rangers are certainly thinking that way after DaMarcus Beasley last Tuesday suffered a severe knee injury that will keep him out for several months.
Sadly for Walter Smith and Rangers Beasley was just finding his way in the Scottish Premier League after coming over from Manchester City.
“It’s a bigger blow to him in the sense that no player wants to be out for what could be a considerable length of time. But for us he was setting in and starting to do well. He has a bit of pace in the wider areas of the pitch so we’ll miss him,” said Rangers manager Smith.
Indeed you will Walter because as many are sometimes critical of Beasley and his ability on the ball there is one fact that is undeniable. He can help you control the wide areas of the field. His ability to get up and down, box to box can never be underestimated.
Beasley much like Landon Donovan is a given for the U.S. national team. Their explosiveness needs to be in the line-up at this stage of the U.S. National team maturity curve in the world game.
So one thing is for sure, you won’t see Beasley in a U.S. national team jersey for quite some time and it poses questions as to whom to use out wide?
Beasley will come to the states for his surgery. Here is to hoping the “jitterbug” makes a speedy recovery.
