Dynamo lose for the first time at home since May

It didn’t go the way it was supposed to at Robertson Stadium in front of a sell-out crowd.
The Dynamo got knocked off by the LA Galaxy 2-1 for their first loss at Robertson Stadium since May when New England defeated the “Orange”.
The Dynamo got the game’s first goal on a mistake from LA’s Pete Vagenas who had an opportunity to cut out a cross which he completely missed. The ball went to Nate Jacqua who scored against his old team to stake the Dynamo to the one goal lead.
The Dynamo did not look particularly sharp and lost concentration at the end of the first half and were punished.
Carlos Pavon checked back in to midfield taking a defender with him, played the ball back to Landon Donovan and then spun off into space where Donovan found him. It was amazing how wide open he was and he hit a beautiful volley right in to the side-netting for the 1-1 halftime scoreline.
It was only Pavon’s third goal of the year and the first he scored with his feet. UP to this moment Pavon didn’t if look as if he ever wanted to shoot on goal.
The Dynamo struggled on the night and never found their rhythm or that confidence through passing that is normally associated with their game at home.
Gavin Glinton produced another game winner eluding Eddie Robinson at the back post after Cobi Jones heading towards him. Glinton is an interesting story in that he took two seasons off to go back and be an assistant coach at Bradley University his alma mater.
The Galaxy have now won four in a row.
More thoughts”
*Brian Ching was a late scratch and was initially penciled in to the starting line-up but removed.
The Dynamo missed his ability to hold the ball around the penalty area in a big way.
*Dominic Kinnear then had to start Brian Mullan whom had only practiced briefly this past week with abdominal problems.
*Stuart Holden and Brad Davis had to come into a more stressful situation then one would have wanted being down a goal. Yet it was good to see them back on the field.
*Landon Donovan played a part in both goals and was back defending in the final moments.
*The Galaxy effectively took the large crowd out of the game for large portions of the day.
*Joe Cannon in goal for LA produced a solid game in the win.
*Chris Klein was dangerous getting forward selectively on the right side.
*The Dynamo had scored 10 goals in their prior three games and it was surprising not to see them create more chances against the Galaxy.
*Credit Frank Yallop the LA coach for getting the most out of his squad on this day he were not over-awed by the large crowd.
