Beckham debut, have your say!

So David Beckham finally got on in the 72nd minute in front of 45,000 fans at RFK Stadium.
The team clearly looked a little more organized even though they were playing with ten men.
His professional approach and seriousness was positive, his telling pass to Landon Donovan represents the future.
Mesh Beckham’s passing ability with Donovan’s movement in front of the ball.
It was no secret where he would play, in the middle of the field . Frank Yallop has been saying that for months.
Unless Landon Donovan and Beckham together can take this team up another level the playoffs look bleak with so many games on the road , artificial surface and travel included.
I for one for the sake of the league hope LA makes a run at it.
What were your impressions of his debut, the ESPN2 broadcast and the Galaxy chances for the playoffs?

Coaching change in Colorado?

More rumor coming out of the Colorado Rapids camp after the recent 5-0 loss to Seattle in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Could current head coach Fernando Clavijo lose his job here shortly? The answer is anything is possible in Colorado.
It’s hard to point the finger where the problem lies but I would start from the top.
Kroencke Sports has been a major dissapointment in my mind other than getting a new stadium builit.
The Rapids still lack an attacking focal point, have been marketed poorly over the years and have leaned on the smoke and mirrors of new colors, uniforms and a very loose association with Arsenal in England.
If that is not enough they are promoting one of their upcoming days by given breaks to fans who bring a “dog” to the game.
Yes a dog.
Now before you say I don’t like dogs I have a few myself but for me this is a stretch to get people to the stadium.
Why limit it to dogs, can I bring my exotic pronghorn? I am sure a few Colorado Rapids fans that have ranches have exotic animals. How about my ostrich?
This team may fire a coach and for sure coaches are accountable but they are struggling at the top with their leadership.
Are they connected in the community? Are they building local relationships? Or is it smoke and mirrors from inept management?
Was the Daniel Osorno trade a sign of desperation?
Could Houston Dynamo assistant John Spencer be headed to Colorado. He would seem the top choice with the support over the years fans gave him as a player plus his time working as an assistant. It is clear he wants to be a head coach.
Thoughts?

Area Youth Clubs stepping up player deveopment

Area youth clubs should be applauded for their recent decision to give their youth players off on Tuesday August 14th to allow youth to watch the Houston Dynamo and Pachuca in the Superliga Semi-finals.
The following clubs and coaching directors have made the powerful decision to cancel practices :
CY-FAIR DYNAMOS- OLIVIER FINIDORI
TEXAS PREMIER- CARLOS LESSA
TEXANS FC- LEE BAKER
TEXAS SC- SCOTT DYMOND AND PAT O’TOOLE
TEXAS RUSH- DON GEMMELL
Now what club would not want to be a part of this player development move. Here is to those individuals and clubs that are making this commitment for their players.
On another note it is great to see SOUTH TEXAS YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION also finally endorse this. Local youth league schedules don’t begin for few weeks so this really all makes sense.
