Without Beckham LA wins 6-5 thriller

Filed under: Uncategorized — glenndavis @ 7:05 am

This game will go down in Superliga lore for a few reasons.
Eleven goals were produced including a 4-0 lead for LA in the first 18 minutes.
FC Dallas had a spirited come-back led by the Houston area’s Arturo Alvarez who scored twice and continues to blossom in MLS.
Spectacular play, loose defending, and fatigued players led to the classic.
The wild game also did not include injured David Beckham in Frisco, TX. In fact Beckham did not even make the trip disappointing and angering fans.
The FC Dallas organization has been criticized by fans for Beckham’s lack of an appearance even injured.
Now here is the danger promoting and hyping Beckham. Injury.
When he doesn’t show many fans are severely disappointed. Are they really soccer fans? Probably not but if they had show last night they would have seen an amazing game.
The Dynamo and DC United game becomes huge tonite with the winner advancing to the semi-finals. A draw could leave it up to drawing lots which I assume means flipping a coin if tiebreakers are all even.
Espn has added the Toronto/LA game this weekend hoping that David Beckham makes his debut.
Now if there is any concern about his ankle why would they debut him on artificial surface?
