Brian Ching and Ricardo Clark have been called up to the U.S. National team to compete in the Gold Cup which begins in early June.
European based players will report for training on May 27th. The Dynamo and MLS teams could be without these players as long as June 24th if the U.S. were to get to the final. The U.S. will also compete in the Copa America this summer.

  1. this is good for the U.S. National Team but, it’s bad for the Dynamo.

Now the pressure is on the young guys to step up. I think it’s fair to say that Paul Dalglish and Joseph Ngwenya will start up top. This could allow for some good playing time for the younger guys: Stuart Holden, Corey Ashe (who had an excellent showing in his MLS debut against NE), and Chris Wondowloski.

There’s also the possibility that Kelly Gray will be forced to step up into a starting role and it also may allow for some playing time to be allocated to John Michael Hayden, the Dynamo’s first round draft pick in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft.

    what do you think glenn?

  2. DeRo will also be gone during that time for the Canadian team. It’s time to throw the kids into the fire and see how they do.

Any word on how long Paul will be out with his ankle injury?

  3. I don’t see anything wrong with letting the young ones get in some playing time. Maybe they can bring some needed fire to kick start our offense.

  4. I look forward to seing how Zoom- Zoom aka. Corey Ashe does as a starter when Ching and Clark are on National duty. He is an amazing sprinter and can cross a mean ball into the area. Saw him play in the Reserves match against Chivas and at the game against New England. I think he shows a lot of promise. Not to overlook the others in the reserves as well.
