Milan dominated them in every facet of the game putting a beating on Alex Ferguson and company 3-0.
Sure United was missing Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville but nothing would have saved them on this day.
In fact it’s hard to believe that I would be here saying that another team was on another level than Man U but it is the truth.
Milan was a different class. Great possession limited the involvement of Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo who was a high strung ball of frustration.
It started quickly for Milan who scored in the 11th minute from Kaka after Clarence Seedorf’s uncontested header found him at the top of the box for the 1-0 lead. Then in the 30th poor defending again from United led to Seedorf getting goal number 2 after eluding Nemanja Vidic at the top of the box.
The 2-0 halftime lead became three as Gilardino scored in the 78th minute as United threw players forward. He received a Massimo Ambrosini pass with huge space and bent his finish around Edwin van der sar.
This was domination and Milan now goes on to play Liverpool on May 23rd in Athens, Greece for the title.
